About
Hi! I am a dance educator, choreographer, and yoga instructor that wants to help you be physically and mentally aligned with your body. Our bodies are the vessels that carry us throughout our everyday routines and it's my job to help you make sure you keep that vessel healthy and strong.
I've been dancing for about 20 years and working professionally in the industry for the past 8 years. I teach dance at different schools, studios, and community centers around the LA area and I choreograph for artists and various type of productions, musicals, interactive events, and new media. I've worked with as young as 4-years-old to as old as 60-years-old. I'm here to tailor the session towards you and your needs.
I'm a community mental health worker (certified in Mental Health First Aid!) and I love to help people use movement as a form of kinetic energy cleansing. I started doing this type of work in 2019 where I served the Filipino American/Asian American and Latinx communities in Historic Filipinotown. My work was recognized by the Los Angeles Board of Public Works in 2019.
I'm excited to have you as a client! Contact me to see how we can start working together. :)

Ally is so dope!! Very talented a great teacher, I’m really slow picking up moves and she took the extra time to dissect and completely break choreography down for me. She’s patient, kind and passionate—what I am ultimately impressed and inspired by. You can tell dancing is a way of life for her and she even imparts wisdom about dance background and history with what’s she’s teaching you. It’s a dance education! I wanted to dance for a fun workout and because I’ve always been intrigued by the style I wanted to learn (whacking & voguing)
I highly recommend Ally! You’ll leave with a smile on your face and extra appreciation for the dance you’re interested in.
Details: 26-35 • One person (one-on-one with instructor) • Hip hop • Beginner • Working out and physical health • 60 minutes • Once a week • I travel to the dance instructor

Had a private, two person 1.5 hour hip hop dancelesson and Ally was such a patient teacher! She asked what we hoped to achieve and catered the lesson to our ability and desires. She had great energy and offered a lot of encouragement. Would definitely recommend!

Ally knew exactly what to do when I asked her for a privatedancelesson. She’s an amazing choreographer , teacher, and person. She was the right person to guide me out of a mental block using her passion of dance. I love her teaching . If you ever have a chance to exchange positive energies with her , I would take it.

I've booked Ally for a couple 1-on-1 classes and will continue to do so! She has such a fun energy, is soooo patient and encouraging. I'm really shy and a bad dancer, but the way Ally teaches really is empowering. She can break down things in a way that is understandable, to even those who are both musically and physically coordinately challenged.
Also, I really like what she brings to the table. She has a lot of different playlists/music styles to introduce you too, and gives you a very broad approach on to dancing so that you can comfortably experiment with a lot of things.
She has a lot of integrity as an artist, so she won't recycle other people's dances. Instead, she'll work with you to not only learn the basics, but do something fresh, fun, and unique. You'll never walk from her lessons feeling like you did someone else's work. Rather you'll get the feeling of accomplishment of doing something new, and it almost feels like yours. She really helps you connect you with that budding artist inside of you!
Really, she has a fun attitude, and you can learn a lot of life things from her through dance, and she's someone who is a wonderful listener. She can provide you some guidance on and off the dance floor. I really recommend Ally for a well-rounded experience. I know you'll love her as much as I do!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For new customers, we'll begin communicating via email and we'll discuss what exactly you're looking to gain from this experience (choreography for an event or just an ongoing private class to help you in your journey) If this is for an event that has various details to be discussed, we can schedule one free one hour consultation, either in person or via facetime. Otherwise, we'll then discuss where you'd like to host the class at (if you have room in your house, or if you'd like me to rent space at a studio). Then I'll send you an invoice and it's pretty much good from there! :)
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my BA in Communication Studies from Cal State Long Beach and I have been dancing for over 12 years. I've assisted programs in the commercial dance industry under Gigi Torres and programs in the nonprofit concert dance community under MashUp Contemporary Dance Company.
I am also a certified Mental Health First Aider, recognized by the National Council for Behavioral Health.
