Introduction: I'm not just a fixer. I like to help writers work through their ideas. I look for the seeds of ideas buried in a writer's work and will keep asking questions until we've figured out what's really going on. I develop an understanding of my client's material and target audience in order to achieve my client's objectives. I support my clients with research and brainstorming if necessary. It's great fun working with clients who write for so many different reasons. The best part of my job is to help them find or refine their voice, so it flows well and is true to their intention.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is really simple and very reasonable. However it does vary slightly for the type of copy you have and how intensive the editing required. Please contact me and I'll provide an estimate after looking over the work. But in general I charge between 3 to 5 cents a word for one round of editing, and 5 to 10 cents a word for two rounds of very intensive work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am part of a local writing critique group. We take turns to submit our writing while the others offer their comments and suggestions. Having your work scrutinized by ten very different people is excruciating. It reminds me how impossible it is to please every single reader, and to be sensitive in the way I dispense criticism.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
It just came naturally. And Im a big believer in going with my strengths and not my weaknesses.
