- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Consultation During this meeting, I analyze your space, explain what it needs, answer questions, and help you avoid costly mistakes. You leave with direction, clarity, and a professional plan. Design Proposal By the same day or next day, you’ll receive your Design Proposal. Your proposal outlines the scope, design direction, timeline, and next steps. Once approved, a deposit is collected and design work begins. Conceptual Design We meet to discuss your style preferences. My job here is to learn about you as much as possible to tailor the design to your specific style and needs. Then, I create the initial vision for your space: floor plans, early 3D visuals, mood boards, material and finishes samples, rough budget. Detailed Design After your feedback, I prepare the complete design plan, including all furniture, lighting, materials, plumbing fixtures, rugs, window treatments, paint, art, and decor. This gives you a full picture of how your home will look and feel. Construction / Implementation Phase With the design finalized and the budget approved, the Implementation Phase begins. The General Contractor (GC) initiates demolition and construction work on site, following the agreed plans and specifications. During this time, my team and I begin placing orders and managing the procurement of all approved items—starting with those that have the longest lead times, such as appliances, plumbing fixtures, doors, windows, flooring, and key furniture pieces. Timely ordering ensures that installations align with the construction schedule and that the project stays on track. Coordination with the General Contractor (GC) during demolition and build. Additionally, I will: Receive and inspect deliveries Store or deliver items as scheduled *Procurement is a concierge-level service, billed separately at 20% on each item. It includes: • Ordering • Tracking • Managing delays or backorders • Handling returns or exchanges • Vendor communication • Delivery management • Quality control and inspection !!! It is highly recommended that the designer manages procurement, because it: - Smooths out the entire process - Prevents costly errors - Avoids damage or wrong orders - Saves you time - Ensures a seamless, stress-free experience Installation Day All items are collected, inspected, and stored until everything is ready. Then my delivery team brings everything at once and installs it in a single coordinated effort. Most projects are completed in one day, but larger homes may require 1–3 days. Final Walkthrough We walk through the finished space together, review any remaining punch-list items, and make sure every detail aligns with our shared vision. *Please be prepared for a Punch List—a list of items that may need to be completed, corrected, replaced, or returned. No matter how carefully a project is planned, the punch list is an inevitable part of any construction process. With many people, materials, and moving parts involved, occasional errors or adjustments are natural. That said, we always strive to make the construction process as smooth and stress-free as possible for our clients. Our team is committed to identifying and addressing any issues promptly and thoroughly. As long as expectations are aligned and you’re mentally prepared for this final phase, we’ll take care of the details—ensuring the finished result meets our shared vision for your home.
