FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I begin by asking them about their specific health and fitness goals. Then I do a fitness assessment through body composition and circumference measurements. I determine an appropriate time frame their realistic results can be met and set them up on a plan to help them reach their goals in a safe and effective manner. I then help them plan a monthly calendar to determine the frequency of days and times we should meet and times they need to workout on their own. Tips and sample of nutrition is also introduced on an intro level and then progressed to a more disciplined regimen as clients are progressing in their fitness. Last, we set up a budget that's comfortable but also reasonable to the expected results our clients want to attain.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my degree in exercise science. In addition, I have my personal Training license through the board of NASM (national academy of sports medicine) with a speciality emphasis on nutrition, corrective exercise, and advanced weight training principles. I am also currently Cpr certified with aed.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I used to be overweight as a kid and when my dad died I started using exercise as a way to help me cope with the pain of a loss. I developed a passion for fitness after I lost over 80lbs during that time period, that's when I knew I wanted to get into the health and fitness industry. I fell into another funk 9 years ago (2007) after my son of 16 months died in an accident and it propelled me to another level in my fitness. I've used exercise as my sanctuary to cope with my pain, but also when I experience joy in my life too. I've never looked back ever since those toughest moment in my life tho.
