I was absolutely delighted and happy about Happy paws services and training. Raquel is a true professional when it comes to dogs. I had "an emergency" travel overseas for three weeks. She took absolute great care of my puppy and training. I was amazed at Raquel's clarity in explaining how to work with my puppy and showing me what my puppy needs when it comes to obedience, being safe and happy. I received videos and chat updates regularly So I could see my puppy and know she is well taken care of. My puppy was very happy at her place, was treated as a family member, loved & very well taken care of. I couldn't have been gone as long as I was if it wasn't for Raquel's willingness to take care of my puppy and she made sure I had peace of mind while I was gone. Thank you. Brilliant work.
Karen is very knowledgeable and very passionate about what she does. I have done some research on dog training, and I very much agree with her methodology of relating to the dogs on a pack level. Karen did a fantastic job of conveying this information to us and really breaking out what key actions would show the dogs that we are the pack leader. I know that we have to right tools now to help make our puppers less stressed and lead happy and healthy lives.
We were pleased with her techniques and we received a lot of good suggestions. I recommend DC to anyone needing dog training. Jan and Steve Lentz
John has been such a help in teaching about potty-training my puppy, and now we are working on the fun stuff. I want my dog to grow up being well-trained so that others may enjoy him as much as I do! John is providing that path and I am so glad I found such a knowledgeable trainer!
Our trainer Denise has been such a great help with our crazy puppy. We hired her when the pup was 5 months old . We were in desperate need of training . Our pup was pottying in the house even though we had designated a spot for her to go. It was exhausting cleaning up after her all day. With Denise's help and expertise , our pup has learned were to go potty and we have learned as well the importance of consistency . It is evident that Denise is gifted as a dog trainer and our experience with her has been very professional . It is obvious she loves animals and there is a gentle way to train. Thanks Denise With love from Summer and the Courtney family:)
Jake is, by far, the strangest dog that Ive ever had the pleasure of meeting. I rescued him when he was 4 months old. His beautiful blue eyes, wrinkly face, and I can do it myself attitude captured my heart the moment I first met him. From what I can gather, his first few months of life were rough. He was found by the side of the road with both of his back legs broken, and the day I went to pick him up, I also learned that he was (and is) completely deaf. After my first few days with Jake, it became clear to me that he had in some way been abused. Unlike any other young puppy Ive ever met, he was very unwelcoming to touch of any kind. To make matters worse, I quickly learned that he was not very fond of other dogs. It started off with growls and nips, and as time passed, it quickly turned into calculated attacks. I could see brief glimpses of his sweet and soft at home, but there was such a thick layer of anger covering it up. It made me so sad to see him this way. I spent months learning how to train a deaf dog, and socialize aggressive dogs. Google became my best friend. But try as I may, Jakes aggression towards other dogs became, quite frankly, unmanageable. Eventually, I had completely given up trips to the dog park, hiking, the dog beach, and really any form of activity that offered a chance to encounter other dogs. I was sad, and Jake was visibly becoming very depressed. The quality of life for both of us had diminished, and I felt so guilty and hopeless. I felt like I had nowhere to turn. And then I met Ralf. I had tried other trainers in the past, and one had even told me that there was nothing that could be done for Jake at all. So suffice to say, things didnt seem promising, and I didnt have a lot of hope going in. I cant tell you how wrong I was. Very quickly, Ralf taught me about being the leader and making Jake both respect and trust me. We learned that Jakes aggression was actually coming from fear and not dominance as I had originally thought. All of this time, I had been treating the wrong problem! As a happy side-effect to our sessions, our walks improved (no pulling at all!), and Jake started to let me touch him in places Id never been able to before (ears, paws, belly, etc.). He had become more affectionate, calm, and seemed much more relaxed. Then, after 2 years of failed attempts, I was shocked and amazed that within only 3 months of working together, we were able to take Jake INTO the dog park for our lessons. Soon enough he was off leash and it was only a matter of a few weeks until we saw him, for the first time EVER, actually PLAY with another dog. He was running, wrestling, and jumping just like a puppy should, and all of this without any aggression being shown. I literally started crying, right there in the middle of the dog park. The change that I have seen in Jake is nothing short of a transformation. Family members have told me that he is a new dog, and we are now taking regular trips to the dog park. I even took Jake camping with 2 other dogs and he did great! I cannot say enough about Ralf and the fantastic work that hes done with my little canine hero. He has literally changed our lives for the better. Thank you doesnt even begin to cover it. I fully intend to call Ralf with any and all of my future dog training needs, and highly recommend him to anyone with dog needs of any kind.
Worked with our newest rescue dog, as well as our two other dogs. We thought we needed help with the new one to integrate her and begin training but realized right away - that all three needed help. He is great at explaining dog training in new ways that make great sense and suddenly seem so easy and obvious. He had all three dogs behaving on leash, and taught them all to lie down before he left. He even got our littlest who is terrified of everyone to calm down and take treats from him (NEVER happens with strangers). We have booked three more sessions.
Stefanie has trained 4 of my dogs over more than 10 years and I cannot sing her praises enough! She has true compassion for all animals and has rescued and found homes for countless number of dogs. She has a real gift of "talking" to the dogs -- she can read their personalities and they bond with her. She is experienced, professional, strict but kind and understands all breeds -- purebreds and mixed. She assesses the situation, background, needs, etc. of the owner/s as well as the dog and adjusts her training method accordingly. Above and beyond her dog training skills, Stefanie is a warm, principled, caring person. I consider her a friend as much as my dogs' trainer.
Steve Welch of K9 Dog Training came to visit us and spent a great deal of time detailing his program and how it works. Steve and his associate, Wendy, were friendly, kind and considerate. As a result we let Babe, are Boston Terrier, and deeply loved little girl go with them to Training. We know she is happy and safe and in caring hands. I feel certain she'll return with some good lessons learned.
Angela came to the house to help us with our new puppy training! From the minute she came in, we knew she was the perfect trainer! Our dog responded so well to her. Every single time she comes to the house, she is punctual, professional, super friendly, and great at what she does! You will not be disappointed. She is a dog whisperer!
Theresa and Brad are absolutely the best! In just a few sessions My dog Missy (a 9 year old pit very set in her ways) was a a completely different well trained dog! Because the training went so well, I enrolled her in Santa Monica Paws Doggy Daycare and it's amazing!! Thank you Santa Monica Paws for being amazing, trustworthy and just all around THE BEST!!
Tommy was my first experience of having a trainer and I couldn’t be happier that I found him. He taught me more in an hr than I ever imagined. He helped me tremendously with the problems I was having with my Doberman puppy. Tommy shows a great amount of confidence and is very in tuned with working with dogs. He is the real deal. Don’t look any further and call him up and he will be sure to exceed your expectations just like I did. Enjoy and Goodluck
I have had my introduction and first training lesson with Petra and she is great! She sends me information every day regarding the training process and gives me the tools to continue the training at home. This has been a great experience!

Miki is a real pro. She knows and love dogs and I was so comfortable leaving my 5 month old Goldendoodle with her over the weekend. She kept me updated with texts and great photos and gave me a full report on my puppy's activities for the weekend. I completely trust her plus she's hilarious!
Dave was such a great help to us in training our dog (or us, really)! He really took the time to explain the process and work with Sadie to overcome her fearful reaction to other dogs. She's made great progress & we look forward to more training sessions in the future. Highly recommended! Oh, and Sadie absolutely LOVES HIM.
I met Ron at a park in Anaheim Hills with my 4 month Rottweiler puppy. At this point, Diesel and I have had 2 lessons with Ron. I see a huge improvement with Diesel. He listens, is attentive, loose leash walks with me instead of dragging me, sits, comes, finds and can be coaxed from being agitated to relaxed in a matter of minutes. I now feel comfortable taking him to a park setting with kids, bicycles, skateboards and other dogs without the feeling of having to constantly have a tight hold on him or worried he will take off running. I highly recommend Ron and Dogwood K9 Training to anyone with a new puppy or highly excitable dog. Well worth the money!!!
This review is long overdue. We worked with Dave a few months back and he is fantastic! My husband and I have a 19month old Goldendoodle who has had previous training, puppy training through Petsmart and Petco but none of it compared to the training we received from Dave. He is great at what he does and explains things in a way that make total sense, like why didn't I think of this before?! He uses positive reinforcement training, which was huge for us. Dave works with your schedule and is flexible, he emails you after every session to go over what you've learned and how to continue the training when he's not around. We see a total difference in our dog after having sessions with Dave, we are looking forward to having him back in the near future to continue our training!
Feet and Paws is such a great idea and wonderful experience! Gives you a chance to get out, get moving while also getting your pet out for some exercise too! And yay for the added benefit of dog training all at the same time! Who would of thought you could combine all these positives into a workout and have so much fun!
I met DANIELE LARGO outside my bank about a year and a half ago. She had such a beautiful, uplifting energy about her. I thought she was so beautiful and happy, and I just wanted to get to know her. She has such an inviting demeanor; we just started talking. Somehow we ended up talking about dogs. She is a remarkable person and dog whisperer extraordinaire. We have three cute little white rescue dogs and have been putting up with a lot of mischief from them. We'd call one and he/she would turn and walk the other way; plus, two different dogs each thought they were the alpha! We had toileting problems, too much unwanted barking, they were impossible to walk, you get the picture. We love them so much - Jack, J.J. and Kate. We're planning to move sometime soon, and for so long I'd been thinking about what to do about our doggie situation. I knew I needed to do something - SOON. Sweet Daniele had been keeping in touch with me during the gap since meeting, but momentarily I had forgotten about Danielle's special talent. Surprise, she called me the next day! Since we started working with Daniele things have really changed around here. We see the changes as each day goes by. Joe and I have worked with the dogs in all the ways she has taught us and it has really paid off. Yes, people need to get engaged in the learning process along with their pets. We have learned so much about understanding dog behavior, an essential part of having a great relationship with your precious baby. Danielle is so in-tune with our dogs and the ways we all relate together, that she understands what's going on with all of us. They each have different issues and they all love Daniele. They are anxious to please her, and now they focus with us much better also. Each one has really stepped up and they are falling into line as a cohesive family unit. We already have less barking, less toileting problems, less jealousy, and more obedience. Our home is happier and calmer thanks to this special lady. We highly recommend her for anyone having problems with their animals, or, if they just want to have a better trained dog, or other issues. Daniele has also helped our doggies, and Joe and I to better health with the Protandim she carries. What a difference! She has so many great ideas that have helped us accomplish our goals, for our doggies and ourselves. We couldn't be happier that we engaged Daniele to help us. Call Daniele, she's worth more than you can imagine...you won't be sorry! With Gratitude, Carole and Joe Wike
All aspects of Paw by Paw is amazing. Ayeumi is so kind, patient and understanding of the dogs that she is training. She got our dog as a baby and then he went back 8 months later and a 100 lbs heavier. Her training of both the dog and owner is superb as well as her assistance when needed. I would recommend her absolutely and proudly.
