My quest for fitness started back in February 2013 as I needed to lose alot of weight. I dropped 80 lbs since then by altering diet and doing cardio workouts daily. Even though my weight was down and I was feeling alot better I was not toned and not very strong as cardio only goes so far. I decided I needed to look into getting a trainer to take the next step on this path to total fitness and met with Justin. He has been truly awesome. I have been working with him for almost a month now and I feel incredible. Every aspect of my fitness level has increased big time, stamina, strength etc. Justin is very motivating every session and is always on time and very professional. I plan on having my wife start with him soon as he done such an amazing job with me. 5 Stars all the way!!!!
I’ve been training with Phil for almost four months now and my attitude towards fitness has completely changed. It no longer feels like a chore to exercise, but something I really enjoy. Phil is highly knowledgeable about nutrition and fitness, personable, encouraging and supportive. He has the ability to push you past your limits just enough so that you stay encouraged and motivated. I also appreciate the variety of workouts that keep things challenging and fun. In addition, he is very flexible and accommodating when it comes to working around your schedule. I would absolutely recommend Phil to anyone looking for a great personal training experience.
Being a full-time worker plus a college student, it is tough maintaining weight. I am a 69 year old male, have been a resident of Kern County, and more specifically Bakersfield for 60+ years. I am a Professional Regional Sales Manager for a very large National Corporation in charge of 1004 West Coast Employees. Additionally, I am a Retired Army Lieutenant, a Veteran of Viet Nam, am in my late 60's, and I have always considered myself fit both physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. My military and professional record this far suggests that is true. Recently, for relatively natural reasons, I have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, Osteoarthritis, and Hypertension. Additionally, a strain which occurred perhaps in basic training, got worse during my deployment and years of duck hunting, and most recently on the bench press, I have been diagnosed with a partially torn right shoulder rotator cuff. Also, I have had 2 surgeries to repair a torn ACL which was and is problematic from a fall that I took while on a Mud Run in 2012, and a re-tear in 2014 on the stairs at my 2nd home in the snow in my Tehachapi home. I came to The Health, Fitness, Diet and Wellness Doctor in October of 2016 even though I am an experienced gym member of 40 years, I go to the gym 4 to 5 X per week for nearly that entire time minus a couple of years for the injuries though I stayed active. I thought I was an expert in diet, weights, cardio, form and staying healthy as I am avid weight lifter, do a cardio appropriately, and have had a good diet, or so I thought, for the majority of my life. I only had the pleasure of training with Shane for a few months, but in that time I got to see plenty of his fitness chops in action. I learned quite a bit about proper technique and a lot about different approaches to weightlifting. In addition, I learned a bunch of new movements from him which I've incorporated to my workouts. His focus on proper technique and the simple, realistic philosophy he brings into the gym are what I found most appealing about his service. Aside from that, he's always on time and provides all of the quality work ethic you would expect of a professional.
