FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had no choice...I was surrounded by parents that painted in both acrylics and oils. I got to see both worlds. I did not enjoy the smelly, messiness of oils. I wanted things easy and fun, so acrylics became my favorite medium. As far as the business of creating personalized artwork. I have 5 children and that is a lot of birthday invites! So, I began to paint their names on canvas, as I found it far too challenging to keep looking for that UNIQUE gift all the time! The kids were so proud, when the guests would "ooh and ahh". I began to get asked to make them for others, and that is how it started...
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Lettering. Phrases in kitchens, family rooms, are the most popular. Ironwork is very popular right now. Any design element, like swirls, and ornamental designs are common. Brick & Stone faux work is a favorite.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A year long project at Riverlakes church. It is Noah's Ark. Life size animals/stall's. As you walk into the downstairs children's department, it is ocean waves, islands with swaying palms on either side. As you approach the double doors, the ark begins, and continues about 100 feet or more, to land, and the animals are beginning to file off the ark. Upstairs is a painted marketplace. The job was something else- and...yes, I did have help!
