I hired Jo because I was stuck about redefining my work and moving forward with my business. Together we reviewed areas where I struggled with my business and I took actions that tested me and pushed me to go outside my comfort zones. Now, I have consistent income that has more than doubled my business income. In the process I’ve developed a greater acceptance of myself in the areas that I do not excel, and instead focus on the ones where I do. Jo kept me grounded and yet encouraged me to do things I wouldn’t have thought of, or attempted, on my own. Jo is kind, generous and a good listener. She helps me get to the core of any issue with her humor, insights, experience and skill. Instead of being “My Coach”, she is a partner in my discoveries and my triumphs with her honest and objective outlook. -Patricia Alejandra Young YourBusinessMaven.Com

I heard Jo as a guest speaker and I loved her interesting take on productivity. After talking to her I knew I wanted to hire her so she could help me figure out the big quagmire in my life: how to bring some balance to my work situation. What I got from working with Jo was so much more clarity than I expected. Jo is great at making me take the 10,000 ft view of challenges. When I started coaching I felt like I was having a blockage getting stuff done but when I started following my intuition more, I realized I’m not a lazy person so if I feel stuck, maybe there’s a reason for it – it’s the wrong thing to be doing! My breakthrough came when I stopped freaking out about the future so much and started trying to live in the present more. I no longer feel guilty all the time about not being in one place or the other – I know I am where I need to be and now I’m delegating more things and saying no to certain requests. I feel more control over how I spend my time and I feel more at peace. Even others have noticed that I’m happier. I’m taking charge of situations instead of letting them roll me over with an outcome I didn’t want or wouldn’t make me happy. I feel like I have the best of both worlds because I have more choices and I no longer feel stuck. Jo has a great way of bringing in an outside perspective and helping me try new ideas and problem solve. She’s seen a lot of other successful people and businesses and how they work so she’s able to gather all these insights into helping me figure out how I can work better and smarter.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a certified integral coach through New Ventures West and a certified professional coach through the International Coaching Federation. I work hard to stay up-to-date on the latest leadership development research and proven tools. I am committed to keep learning and expanding my range of skills to serve my clients at the top of my field.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I am an expert and working with clients on building up their interpersonal relationships and influence at work. Relationships are at the heart of our leadership influence and impact. I help people communicate more clearly and confidently, I help clients develop their own personal leadership and management style to run high-performing teams, and I can also help clients manage challenging relationships at work that are holding them and their career back (including unfair bosses and colleagues.) I always help my clients strategize about what exactly is needed to achieve their leadership goals so we're working on the right things that matter most and have the highest career return for my clients.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The best piece of advice I have for people looking for leadership coaching is two-fold. First- talk to someone before hiring them. Personality fit and trust is one of the most important components of a good coaching relationship so if you don't feel the right click, listen to your gut feeling about that. Secondly - ask your coach how they work? Do they have a methodology they use? When you hear them describe their process and their structure, does it sound like a process you want to engage in? Does it sound like it will help you develop the skills you want to leverage into even better opportunities and work you love? Price: Obviously you don't want to start a working relationship with someone you can't afford to pay, but going with someone only because of a price quote can be a tricky situations because I've found that people often start adding things to their bid once you tell them about your situation - so make sure you're comparing the investment for getting the results you really want and need.
