Introduction: My name is Juan, I am a certified personal trainer with fitness experience training individuals of all ages from as young as 14 to as senior as 77. My journey in fitness began first as a HS athlete then a Div. 1 athlete which led me to a career in coaching. Several years later I had my own experience of struggling to live a healthy and active lifestyle due to a career where I was always sedentary. I am passionate about helping others find ways become more fit as a way to enhance the quality of their lives. I enjoy working with people who have never had a PT as well as helping those who have plateaued and need help getting over that hump. As of the First week in April I have been fully vaccinated.

My favorite part of working out with Juan was his commitment. I twice tried flaking on him saying I was feeling lazy and maybe we could postpone our lesson and he automatically said, “nope, I’ll see you soon. Bring water!” Sometimes all a girl needs is a little discipline and accountability!

JJ is an excellent professional, he has a fantastic approach to needy areas, makes you aware of what is important while trying to be in better physiological form. This is very important since your body strength is what eventually will take you into enjoying your life in the years to follow. This is a trainer I would recommend without a second guess.

As a senior who had no gym experience, I was so fortunate to have Juan as my personal fitness trainer. He is very professional- always friendly and patient. Not only is he a good listener and encouraging, Juan is also highly skilled at determining what was needed to challenge and help me advance toward my personal fitness goals.

Juan knows the science and has the personal qualities of an an excellent trainer. He knows exercises for every situation. Also when to push or hold a client back for safety. Rapport matters to client and he established a good one with me right away. I would recommend him for clients of all ages and temperaments.

I worked with Juan for a bit over 8 months, twice a week at the start and then weekly. I am 70+ years old. My goals at the start were relief of back pain and increased strength. The back pain was gone in a few weeks from stretching and strengthening my core muscles. As my strength built up, I was able to be more active and hike faster up hills. I also gained the confidence to go on my own, using the techniques Juan taught me. I achieved my strength goals and was surprised to lose a few pounds in the process. Juan has a bright, positive view of life and many stories to tell. He was a pleasure for me to work with, even as he pushed me to lift more weight and do more reps. Juan was punctual, always contacted me if there was a need to change the schedule.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I do offer a discount for packages as well if you have a partner to train together with. Also my intro session is also at a lower rate since it’s a assessment of where your body is at fitness wise and to see where your starting point is.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    First session is more of an orientation to help me see where your body is both with stamina and strength. As well as conducting a traditional squat assessment and some upper body and core work to see where your starting point may be as well as how to design a program specifically for you.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I’m a Certified Personal Trainer as well as CPR/AED certified
