Introduction: I am a decade-long, current and active member of the screenwriters union for motion pictures and television, the Writers Guild of America, West. It's statistically harder to get into than Major League Baseball. Just to give you an idea. I've taught screenwriting at the MFA level, was a script analyst for several years at Alcon Entertainment (deal at Warner Brothers) before becoming a multi-produced WGA screenwriter for Universal Studios, and I am a published author on screenwriting with the #1 textbook publisher in America, Routledge.

Seldom Do I work with a writer so versed on film genres and yet so far removed from cliches and conventions. Michael has got his own vision but knows how to adapt his work and skills to other people visions, particularly the ones who hire such a marvelous and talented man.

I hired Michael Tabb to write a feature film adaptation of Robert E. Howard's novela "Vultures" when I was at Paradox Entertainment. Michael wrote a fantastic script for us. Yes, I teach for fun in an advanced masters MFA entertainment writing program for fun.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was a kid, I wanted to be an actor. Then I found I was a really greedy, little actor. Why play one role when I could play them all? That's what and who writers are. The greediest actors with a knack for character creation, who can see all the dramatic and comic beats laid out in story form, maximizing each moment's potential.
