Hola, Muchas gracias por leer mi perfil. I'm a truly SPANISH NATIVE SPEAKER, a professional tutor and a Thumbtack Top Pro. My classes are ONLINE ONLY- using different platforms and mobile apps - and they are designed to achieve specific goals: to take a quiz for college, benefit your brain, prepare for a great travel experience in a non-distant future, enhance your professional career, communicate better with relatives and friends, expand your business, gain cultural competence or just enjoy this beautiful language and culture. I was born and raised in Argentina where I graduated in Sociology from the Universidad de Buenos Aires. I worked as a teacher, adviser to one of the Presidents of my native country and then went into marketing and advertising, jobs that required an impeccable command of the language. Since the 80's, I am a resident of Los Angeles, California, which makes me bilingual and bicultural. I am helping students of DIFFERENT LEVELS the same way I STILL help my three grown up kids even though they have Masters degrees and are successfully working as bilingual professionals at The Smithsonian in Washington DC, at UCLA (University of California at Los Angeles) and as a tutor/coach at Ocean Charter School in Los Angeles. I have been teaching/coaching español to a wide spectrum of people: elementary, high school and Harvard students, Masters and PhD's, professionals in the entertainment industry and non-profits organizations, lawyers, housewives, retirees and actors among others. In every single case with positive results. I also have vast experience in creating and producing advertising campaigns targeting the US Hispanic Market, real estate, and obviously, in teaching. Working with Emilio has been great. We have weekly lessons and use our time to review lessons from Easy Spanish (textbook), dive into reading comprehension exercises and practice through conversation. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Normally the fee for online video classes is lower than for in-person classes and I offer a special pricing for small groups.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I explain my professional background, evaluate the student's level of Spanish, goals and the amount of time he/she can dedicate to the program. Based on all this I suggest a specific course of action. This process, which normally takes between 30 minutes to an hour, is absolutely FREE.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have degrees in teaching and sociology from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. I was a elementary school teacher for over 10 years. I also worked at the Presidency, writing reports for the President of Argentina and then I went to work in advertising as an account director. Here in the US, I also worked in advertising targeting the US Hispanic Market where I wrote, directed and produced hundred of radio spots "en español" and wrote and for TV commercials. In addition, I've translated into Spanish speeches, commercials and different types of material.
