About
I strive to make my instruction individualized and specific for my students learning style and capabilities. I don't use a cookie cutter formula but rather keep adjusting and evolving with the student.
I like to see my students grow in their understanding about the game, and come to own their skills and achievement in the game over time.
I am a former LPGA Tour player who competed all over the world. I know what it takes to make a swing and game that will hold up under pressure on the golf course. You will learn the necessary and important fundamentals of the game as you ingrain the proper mechanics. My goal for you is to get the most out of your game on the golf course so your fun quotient increases exponentially!
I teach at the Chula Vista GC at 4475 Bonita Rd. I look forward to guiding, coaching, and directing you in building a repeatable swing for better ball striking and improved play. Let's get started!

If you are looking to find a golf instructor who will take you to the next level, your time spent with Christy will be an investment. i have the pleasure to be Christy's student on and off for the past twelve years. I started out shooting in the high 90s low 100s. Christy's instructions have done wonders to my game. I am currently an 8 handicap. Christy incorporates her LPGA tour experiences into her teaching philosophy. Christy is extremely effective adapting the blend of technical and feel approach to teaching. Not everyone learns the same and this is where my lessons have been fruitful. I can describe that when you learn from Christy, you will be learning a modern swing, a swing you can keep for years to come, with much less moving parts.
Are you ready for an adventure?

It was about a year ago when I decided I needed something new in my life and considered taking up golf. I have known Christy Erb for a few years, and she had often mentioned to me that I should take golflessons with her, give it a try, so the decision was made and I started my lessons with Christy and in truth, had no idea what I was in for
Golf, as many know (and remind me) is an unforgiving game filled with inconsistencies, unpredictable outcomes and requires a physical form that is unlike any other sport, in other words, you cant simply just walk up to the little white ball and hit it, because that doesnt work. Not like Frisbee or football, hitting that white ball with a long club can be the most frustrating act and without any means to an end.
When I began my lessons with Christy, I slowly started to realize that this was going to be the challenge of a lifetime, yet Christy has been there to guide me, patiently, where her lessons, starting from the more basic moves of the grip to progression of changes in the swing and stance, are conveyed with clarity, good humor and encouragement. I could be having the worst day with my lessons, where nothing is connecting, and Christy will find that one bright spot in an otherwise dark lesson and help me put it back into perspective. Very encouraging, supportive, just what a student needs.

From our first lesson that I got the chance to work with Christy, I have seen and experience a tremendous progress on my golf swing and my physical and mental ability. Christy has been able to be digest my flaws on my golf swing to best improve my golf swing. In every lesson that we get to work together I have seen the progress that reflects on my golf game and my handicap. From the short game, putting , shipping to the long game my time and experience in the golf course has improve and Im able to enjoy the game even more. Christy takes time to look at every detail as we make progress with the golf swing, Christy strives on discipline and commitment to make improvements in the golf swing. With her knowledge and experience in the game, If you put the time and effort to improve you will see positive results
I have enjoy every lesson that I had with Christy.

I'm now driving the ball much straighter and I have more confidence when hitting the golf ball. Christy has been very helpful and I continue with occasional tune-ups. She has a lot of useful knowledge and is fun!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do package discounts on multiple session packages.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I get to know the new student, asking them questions about their background and level of experience from a beginner to intermediate to advanced golfer. I then find out their preferred method of teaching, from visual to feeling the move, from technical to broad strokes depending on their learning style.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was the San Diego Junior Golfer of the Year three years in a row, from 1986 to 1988, winner of four national junior events on the AJGA Tour, as well as the Junior World Championships two times. Through my junior golf career I earned a scholarship to play for UCLA. My team won the 1991 NCAA Championship and I placed 2nd individually. I went on to play professionally in Asia, the Futures Tour, and other satellite tours before earning my LPGA. I played on the LPGA Tour in 1998 and 1999. I now use my experience and lessons learned playing competitively to help my students to avoid unnecessary pitfalls and to play up to their potential.
