Troy was amazing!! He put up an awning on my RV and built a dog kennel for me and plumbing work on my RV! He charged me fairly and was efficient! I will be using him for many more projects in the future, I highly recommend him! If you want the job done right Troy is the one to choose!!
Vyron and his team were great. They remodeled a small guest house for us - flooring, ceiling, painting, plumbing, windows, cabinetry. It was a 3 day job. They always showed up on time, worked extremely hard, were professional and pleasant. Vyron is very focused on doing a quality job. He clearly has a lot of experience doing all types of remodeling projects, and offered several valuable suggestions. I would definitely use again.
He came over to my house and spent a good 30 minutes evaluating my project and making recommendations. We agreed he would come back in a few days and install one of the dog doors. On time. On budget. Good work. Good customer service. Thank you.
I am an owner/builder and have been a tradesmen all of my life and generally I work alone. I pride myself with a fit and finish second to none. On a recent remodel of my brothers apartment I needed some additional assistance to expedite the completion of the project installing Crown Molding and installing the entry door. I found Thumbtack on the net and reluctantly gave it a try, not know what might show up at my door step. Francisco and Vladimir were the first to reply to my inquiry for a carpenter. We set an initial time to meet and review my job and they arrived promptly. I told them that all of the work thus far was done by me and that the thought of having a stranger do finish work to my standard on my job, scared me. They assured me that their work would be to my satisfaction and I reluctantly said ok, when can you start? On their start date they arrived on time with all of the tools necessary to complete there tasks. I observed them working methodically and with for sight and by the days end they did not meet my expectation, they exceeded it! The work was beautiful, well thought out and executed. The best part was after explaining what I desired, I didn't need to micro manage them through the process, they just got it done on their own to perfection! I would not hesitate to hire these two fine young craftsman again, and I am sure I will. Their rates were fare, the work outstanding and they cleaned up after each days work without my asking. Need more of a reference? Email me at: email@example.com. Give these two a chance, they will not disappoint you! John B.
Conn built a giant lattice wall in my backyard with custom framing and stain. It's awesome. His quote and overall plan was timely and thoughtful. He completed the project on time and within budget. Very happy.
Gerardo did a complete remodel of our kitchen. Painted our cabinets, glass subway tiles and flooring. Opened a wall from our great room into the kitchen. Installed laminate flooring throughout the house, tile in the bathroom, electrical work . Excellent work ethics, detail minded, fair pricing and super honest. If you had a ten star rating we would give it to him. He is experienced and knowledgeable in all phases of construction . We feel lucky that we found him through your website. Thank you!
We've been working with Garrett and S.O.T.A. Construction since February 2016 in opening our restaurant called 'Aina in San Francisco and we couldn't be happier. He came in and gave us a quote on some minor work needed and had some cool ideas. From there he ended up taking on more than we had planned after seeing his work. The work he does is fast and clean, and he always has a new idea or solution before a problem even occurs. He's kept us incredibly on budget coming up with solutions within our spend, as well he's been VERY up front about any cost and keeping any additional work cost transparent. There were no surprises in any payments, he worked hard, and had amazing communication with us. He also did a great job doing custom woodwork for us for our bathroom, tables, a brand new wine rack, outfitting a whole wooden bar, etc etc. He was also knowledgable about restaurant quotes, permits required etc which really helped us throughout the process on an important commercial job. Very responsive and all round great guy. Overall Garrett and S.O.T.A. Construction went above and beyond on what we had asked for. Highly recommended.
The job: 1) Inspect entire home for dry rot; remove all that was identified, and install new lumber matching lumber. 2) Inspect all windows and doors; adjust if required, and caulk/seal around all. 3) Paint exterior house trim; around windows and doors. 4) Other numerous small tasks (e.g. install GFCI outlets, smoke detectors, CO detector, water heater earthquake straps, etc). Robert and his assistant did a fine job taking care of all the aforementioned tasks. I was very satisfied with the work performed. If you have home repair problems/projects involving wood, I suggest you consider having Robert evaluate your problem/project and give you a bid.
Ben took out carpet and installed new laminate flooring in our master bedroom. He was very easy to work with. He was on time, did a great job, and cleaned everything up. The whole process was very easy. I would absolutely recommend Ben for any flooring needs.
I reside in Vacaville and had Toure who normally works in Sacramento come to my home and install my old and heavy 46 Samsung LCD TV above my fireplace with the wires hidden behind it. First Toure and I agreed on a designated time that worked for both him and I. He was on time within the thirty minute window we agreed upon. He came ready. He didn't take any breaks in what became an usual install because of the way my house was built. The install took longer then expected but instead of rescheduling to finish it later or taking lots of breaks and resting from what I viewed as a stressful job he kept on! Impressive! The quality of work was great, I saw allot of measuring on his part to make sure that the TV was correctly centered above the fireplace and when I asked him questions about why he did this or why he did that he took the time and explained it to me. After the completion of the install he went above and beyond and vacuumed up the debris that he had made from the drilling and sawing around the fireplace as well as near the attic access. I would definitely recommend Toure Clayton. Brian
Alex has done a variety of things for us in our home & all were very well done. He is fast, efficient, honest & very skilled. I highly recommend him for just about anything you might need in your home or business. Things Alex have done for us include: ~ Installing high quality vinyl siding & trim to withstand our very rough, wet environment. Still look great years later! ~ Installed custom soap stone kitchen counters including under mount sinks & back splashes - gorgeous! ~ Finished our basement to create a guest bedroom, bathroom & office for which our visiting friends & family really enjoy. ~ Super insulated our attic which paid for itself in reduced heating bills in a couple years. ~ Rebuilt our aging brick walkway & patio & they still look beautiful. ~ Rebuilt our fireplace removing old bricks & replacing them with a variety of stones for a much more modern look & feel. Obviously, I highly recommend Alex for any building project you might have. Jon P.
Julio Otzoy refinished all the wooden floors in my house while I was on vacation and did a superb job! I have a large house (3000 sq. ft. of floors)and the floors had not been touched in nearly 60 years. We packed, left and turned the keys over to Julio. He managed to move all the furniture and boxes out, refinished all the wood, even replacing heavily damaged wood in many places with wood from inside the closets so it matched perfectly (placing new wood in the closets), and moving everything back in. When we returned to our home it looked as if we had never left -except the floors were stunning! He did a fabulous job, is imminently trustworthy, easy to work with, reasonably priced and all around great. I would rehire him in a blink. Jolie
Justin completed various jobs around my new house when I firdt moved in..2011. He repaired my flooring, rebuilt the main walkway casing to enclose the flooring, and resealed bathroom window. Justin's prices were very reasonabe, he's very professional, the work was completed in a timely matter and the quality of work was outstsnding. Just recently in 2013, justin completed some work in my rental: refinished, spackled, painted a wall and celing where I had repaired water leaks. Again, work was outstanding. I highly recommend JS Construction!
I had a list of home improvements both inside and outside that Anthony and his crew took care of all in one day. Dependable, great workmanship and service.
I first came to work with Timothy on a renovation project and over the years I've worked along aside him on a large variety of jobs. As a handyman, designer and builder Timothy adeptly handles tasks that puts me at ease knowing he'll get the job done well. He's definitely someone to keep in your contacts for future jobs. From, furniture to cabinetry, to drywall, to painting, to finishing, to carpentry and more, I've been impressed with his performance each and every time. He's easy to work with, incredibly friendly, experienced, and equipped. Best wishes, Timothy!
I have multiple pieces throughout my house and all of them are fantastic! My favorite being two custom patina end tables that are beautiful and one of a kind. Excellent work! He has my highest recommendation.
David and Adrian were a pleasure to work with. We chose BCB after receiving three separate quotes for our water damage repair in the kitchen and garage, based on their competitive pricing and no-nonsense approach to the repairs. They didn't try to squeeze additional funds from our insurance company and completed all of the repairs within five business days - new kitchen floor, repaired the kitchen cabinet, replaced cabinet facing and new insulation/drywall in the garage. The house looks better than when we bought it- we would highly recommend BCB!
I chose Dave at the time based on the work he had done in my sister's house. Some beautiful custom cabinets and a kitchen Island along with altered existing cabinets and trim work. I couldn't believe the "before" and "after" pics and the amazing transformation he had facilitated. He brought the same magic into my house and had to work around some existing issues left by other contractors. His background and experience seem to put him at a higher level than those I've dealt with in the past and I would say he brings levels of professionalism and talent that are hard to find. It seemed like he really listened to what I was asking for and worked with me to make it happen. I'm looking forward to calling him again next time I want some work truly customized for me.
I contracted Environmental Builders to prepare my home for sale. This involved repairing and replacing siding, painting, fixing doors, plumbing and replacing flooring. Everything was done in a professional, yet friendly manner. The inevitable problems which arose were handled by Mark and he made sure everything was done right and to my satisfaction. He far exceeded my expectations. I would recommend Environmental Builders to anyone planning a construction project, no matter how large or small.
As we all may know, finding a good contractor is sometimes like finding a needle in a haystack. Silverado was a breath of fresh air after years of searching for a quality and reliable contractor. We hired Silverado for a full laundry room remodel which included demo, new walls, plumbing and electrical. We also ended up using them to install a few pocket doors which led to the discovery of a rat problem and a vent pipe that was never connected by the company who flipped our house. Antonio and his team were thorough, timely and clean all while being fair on pricing. We were thrilled with the outcome and plan to use Silverado again. I highly recommend.
Having just moved into a house on the start of summer, my wife and I found it was unbearably hot on hot days, but really just in one room with a vaulted ceiling: the parts of the house covered by the regular, narrow attic were much cooler. I'd been looking into all house fans, but was concerned that they would not solve the problem in my house because they must be placed in the parts of the house without the heat problem and try to draw hot air down and around corners to reach its intake. I found a device made by a Massachusetts company, Tamarack Technologies, which would directly vent to the outside of the house and close shut at R10 insulation level when not in use. This seemed like the way to go. After failed attempts to get one-trick-pony whole house fan companies to step outside their boxes, I just ordered the unit so that now I could just go on Thumbtack and say "install this unit". Separately I got a quote from the company who last serviced the roof on the building, but the estimator basically told me they weren't interested in the project. Kasra at Sustainable Roofing Solutions was a breath of fresh air. Trained as an architect and an expert in passively efficient building designs, he listened and said I was spot on with my concerns about the air flow. He gave me good ideas about more common solutions to this problem - in particular suggesting a powered skylight. I very nearly returned the unit and went with his suggestion - until we discovered that the specific roof design of the house made a skylight less suitable. But once we had determined that was a dead end, I got enthusiastic, professional and capable work. All in all, the project came in on time and budget. I'm very satisfied with the outcome, and it has definitely made my home livable on hot days and the evenings after.
Mr. Escobar is the best contractor I've met in San Francisco. He has worked on two very difficult houses in the city for me and was great. One house had numerous building code violations that required removing a deck and stairs, rebuilding the deck and stairs, removing dry rot, resheating and residing, replacing the windows. repainting. It all had to pass reinspection by the building department , which it did. At another house, it was a deteriorated Edwardian, where much of the trim and façade had rotted away, and he had to rebuild the façade as it was originally. That was another amazing job and he succeeded mostly because he is an excellent carpenter. I live in Reno, and these jobs had to be done without my presence, which requires complete confidence. Whether it is interior or exterior work, hire him and you won't be disappointed.
I'm a retired plumber with 45 years of experience in all phases of the trade. I've done about a dozen or so projects for Tim Murphy of Island Builders. I must say he has some of the cleanest jobs during construction. He ALWAYS does quality work, which made my work much easier to do & turn out looking so top notch. Tim does all work with finesse & skill to get the 5 star job rating from me! Gregg Ott - Perfection Plumbing
