Introduction: Hi guys my name is Matt I’ve been in the industry for quite some time both in the field and in the office. I have extensive background in not only small handyman type projects but my specialty is in smart home devices set up and integration. If I had to pick a second specialty it would be that of electrical and then followed by plumbing. I come prompt and prepared with a professional attitude!

Matt came to hang a heavy artwork from the wall. He made me better suggestions. The work of securing the piece was done meticulously. He was generous with his time and even helped me with a small extra piece!!! I will recommend him to friends!

Matt at SoCal Repair did a great job for us. We had a complicated task for his team and they figured out a way to get it done when others we hired before SoCal could do it. Great quality of work and very reasonable pricing.

Very nice man, very humble and hard worker . He is very thorough with his work and detailed. He even removed a light in one area and moved it to another so we could position the lights a certain way so our patio door wouldn’t hit the lights and break. Definitely recommend this person!

I came home to my door kicked in and was in a panic. Matt was the first pro to respond and was quick to let me know he could be there within an hour or two to secure the door. He got to my house on time, assessed what I needed, and proceeded to work on securing the door. It was badly kicked in, and there was a lot of work to be done in the door and frame, too. He really cared to make it safe and secure - making several trips to Home Depot and waiting hours for it to dry while taking a dinner break. He spent seven hours in my area that day, getting materials, waiting for it to dry, coming back in the dark to finish by 10:40pm. He’s a really hard worker, honest and nice guy. He gave me an incredible rate because he knew I was obviously having a bad day. Very reasonable guy. I would definitely hire him again.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

This is a great question. You know pricing is a funny thing there’s a lot of well at least for me there is a lot of thought that goes into the price that I charge somebody. I think a lot of things into consideration and I would hope that people would realize that when I come up with the price. I can tell you this majority of the time I Google search it, NO really I do! The main reason I do that is to make sure that I am not overcharging somebody because the worst thing would be for them to look and Google search it themselves after I leave and feel like I scammed them! Some of the other things I consider or if I need to pay another person to help me if I’m paying into workers comp, insurance, location, if I need to go to the city/county dump, If I have to deal with building and safety department and or be there for inspections, and the level of skill required for the job at hand.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

So after the initial quoteI always will come in have a quick little chat with whoever may be there find out what’s really going on and just get away of the land honestly. I talk a lot and I ask a lot of questions so I will generally go through a series of questions based on the job that is needing to be done. I will always take pictures and call the homeowner or whoever the responsible party is to the area if I come across something that I think should be addressed and they may or may not know about. I never will tell somebody that they have to have me do this it is their choice if they want to have the work done by me or not I will not take a personally if they choose to have a second opinion as this is very similar to my style of doing things as well I feel any good pro should not be offended by a second opinion because they know what they told the homeowner was right incorrect and if they get a second opinion by somebody who is a professional as well then the stories so to speak should match up.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

You know I have a lot of on the job training and the biggest trainer of them all is common sense. I am formally trained as a biologist and worked a majority of my adult life in the medical field believe it or not. I like to do things hands-on and I like to be in control of my schedule and not conform to the typical 9-to-5 type work situation and that’s why I choose to do this type of work.
