To all of my potential, clients, I am located in the Encino area of California. I just want to make sure that everyone is on the same page in terms of my location. FYI, I work with 100% of my clients remotely (FaceTime, Skype and Zoom) and if you read my reviews you will see that it is very successful. All of that being said............ No one can teach you to be talented. You have to have a gift to begin with. So, no one can teach you how to act. All anyone can teach you is how to use your gifts and hone them so you can present the best version of yourself and/or the characters you portray. I started acting in Brooklyn when I was in grade school. I had a big voice and I was hard to ignore. In junior high I started public speaking for our school. One of my teachers suggested (strongly) that I apply and audition for the High School of Performing Arts in New York (yes, the real one and I was in the original movie Fame!) I ended up going to and graduating from PA as we called it. I went on to receive my BFA with honors from SUNY Purchase Conservatory in White Plains, New York. I Had my first professional acting job as a contract player on “As the World Turns”. Then “All My Children” and “Days of Our Lives”. Guest starred on “Seinfeld” (twice, two separate characters), “The Nanny”, “Mad About You”, “NYPD Blue” to mention just a few. Also starred in 6 TV Pilots and had lead roles off Broadway in “The Racket” and at the Folger Shakespeare Theatre in Washington D.C. in “The Mandrake”. And with all I have done in my career none of it would have been possible if I didn’t audition well. Learning how to interpret scripts and sides is crucial. Through studying the role and making definitive choices with your character you will show everyone in the room that you are the ONE. You need to learn how to “take the room” when you enter it. You can turn your nerves into actions that calm you and focus you on the character. All actors need to understand that the producers, directors and casting people you will be auditioning for WANT you to get the role. They are hoping that you will be the one so their search is over. They are actually rooting for you! Trust me, I know that it doesn’t feel that way but it’s true. They want you to blow them away and make them feel confident that you are the best choice for the role. I can teach you how to present the best version of yourself and your character. There are times (as we all know!) you won’t get the role because the director will have a different vision of what the character is. But I promise you if you use the tools that I teach you, you will be remembered and called back for different roles just based on your confidence and the strength of your audition. All of the above also relates to public speaking. If you are in the public eye everything here applies to you as well. How do you want to represent yourself and your company? With the following questions we will discover the best way to get to the heart of the character and we will make you stand out at any audition! 1. What is the scene about? What message are you trying to convey? 2. What does your character want in the scene? 3. What are the things that you and your character have in common that you can use in the scene? 4. How are you going to portray what your character wants using your own strengths? 5. How are you going to command the room and let them know that you mean business? We will work on all of these important points. Together we can build your confidence and your resume!See more

I wrote the paragraph below after my first lesson with April, now more than five years ago. April's Let the Voice Out technique works and I'm living proof of that. From absolute beginner with no experience, to a confident performer would not have happened without April's system. I gained a great side benefit was an improvement to my speaking voice, both for causal conversation and presentations. My speaking voice has gone down in range, and I have slowed down: both necessary improvements. I couldn't be happier with my Let the Voice Out Experience. From 2014 "After the first week I left smiling all the way home. The difference now, after only eight lessons is amazing. I have more confidence "singing out" and the quality and tone of what I sing out is improving constantly. I love April's encouraging teaching style."See more
