I've been teaching fun, personalized guitar lessons to kids and adults since 2011. Learning an instrument is an investment of time, energy and money and I have the experience, and passion for teaching to guide you on your musical journey! I studied guitar at Berklee College of Music and have years of experience teaching private lessons, rock band class, music theory workshops and songwriting clinics. I enjoy teaching acoustic and electric guitar in the styles of rock, classic rock, heavy metal and pop and can help you learn music theory, ear training, improvisation and soloing, songwriting and music production.
My advanced students seek me out to improve their knowledge of the fretboard. I love teaching music theory, scales, arpeggios, ear training and improvisation. I love making customized exercises and materials for my students that can cover any technique.
My beginner students will enjoy my enthusiasm and patience. It’s not always easy in the beginning and I love coaching and encouraging my students to stick with it and reach their goals.
I love guitar and look forward to being your next teacher!

My 16 y/o daughter had a great first lesson with Steph last night!! The big hug that my daughter gave me and the 20 thank yous after her lesson was all I needed to know that Steph was a great fit. Steph is energetic, seems to really enjoy teaching and she made learning fun. My daughter can't wait until her lesson next week!

Steph is extremely talented, both as an artist and as a teacher. It took her only a couple emails and 10-15 minutes with me on a call to figure out my level, my targets and find exercises and advice that made total sense. Highly recommended!

I had worked with Steph for many months prior to COVID. She was extremely professional, well balanced in her teaching approach, patient with my own deficiencies, and helped me become a better guitarist.
She is a shredder and can help you start down the path of technical playing as well as keeping you on track within the realm of music theory. I suggest Steph to anyone looking to make strides in their playing.

Steph genuinely loves teaching guitar to children, and our 9 year old son looks forward to his lessons with her every week. Her patience, excitement, and enthusiasm make her a perfect match for our son. She gets excited when he gets something right or when the light bulb clicks on after she teaches something new, and she takes the time to explain things and to encourage him when he doesn't quite understand. And it's super cool to hear Steph when she demonstrates riffs on her guitar. We're lucky to have found her and look forward to our son continuing to learn the guitar under Steph's instruction.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Purchase a 4 pack of lessons for 5% off
Purchase an 8 pack of lessons for 10% off
I enjoy teaching lessons in the comfort of my students homes. Prices can vary based on location and travel time
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Everyone is different and I like to tailor my teaching approach to the students goals and personality. We'll get to know each other and create a lesson plan that fits your needs
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began playing guitar at the age of 9 studying mainly classical guitar for 3 years. I then moved on to jazz and rock at the age of 12 where I learned music theory and began improvising. During high school I played in a jazz ensemble, a big band, and was the front woman of my own funk rock trio.
I then went on to study guitar performance and professional music at Berklee College of Music in Boston where I continued to develop my style and songwriting skills and formed the progressive metal group Protean Collective. We went on to release 4 albums, play hundreds of shows, tour the east coast and were nominated for 4 Boston Music Awards.
I've had an active roster of private students since 2011 and have also been a rock band coach at Plugged In Teen Band Program in Needham, MA for the past 7 years. I've worked with kids of all ages, including those with special needs, and have taught workshops in music theory, song writing, and improvisation.
