I needed exclusion work in my attic, which is extremely big and so complex, that I am still trying to strategize breaking up the work into several jobs instead of having it done all at once. Out of all the people from Thumbtack who came to inspect it, Nikolai was the ONLY one who was professional. He was not afraid to just go up there and carefully examine every part of the attic, asking questions and following instructions to walk only on the beams. The other so-called pros did not even go inside. They popped their head in and took a casual look with a flashlight and did not even go up into the attic. This was a waste of my time and theirs because I fully informed them beforehand of the condition of the attic. Well, most attics are dusty and dirty unless it's a newly built house.
I know not all handymen have experience with attics or exclusion work but once again, he was the only one who showed professionalism . Also, his English is good so there was no problem communicating.
Only Nikolai showed professionalism and was took the job seriously. For this alone I am giving him a good review even though he never asked for it. In the interim, I am still trying to decide precisely how to tackle the job into different smaller jobs so that it gets done properly.

We hired him for 3 minor plumbing jobs (a shower handle, a leaking bathtub faucet, and a bathroom sink clog) and 2 were not completed (they fixed the sink clog). His lack of English communication made it very difficult to work with. He seemed very nice, so we didn't want to dismiss him just because of his limited English skills. He was here for hours then he had to call in a friend to try to help him figure out how to do the fixes. In the end we paid them both, more than was quoted, and got only 1 of the 3 jobs done. The shower handle was still unusable and the bath tub still leaked (though a little less, but not acceptable). The following week we had to call in a more experienced and costly plumber to refix what they attempted to fix. We can't recommend SolidFix.

Hi Kellie, we’re sorry to hear that you were not fully satisfied. However, we would like to clarify that this review does not accurately reflect the full situation.
The original agreement was $150 for two clogs and a shower handle replacement. Both clogs were successfully cleared. The shower handle could not be completed at that time because the required extension part was not available.
We also want to clarify that the additional payment was not for “two people.” It was for the additional faucet leak repair that was performed outside of the original agreement. Even though the faucet was old, the leak was successfully repaired. We also provided a heater diagnostic at no additional charge.
We tried to help as much as possible and were ready to return once the correct extension part was available. Thank you for your feedback.

He helped me hang two mirrors and an art piece, and everything came out perfectly aligned and secure. He was very patient, took his time, and paid close attention to the small details, which really appreciated. Super understanding, professional, and easy to communicate with trough tout the whole process. I'd definitely book him again and highly recommend him.
