Victor M. says, "After going through the bid process Shah of A-Z Home Improvement was selected to install my walkway. Why he was chosen was his quick responsiveness and confidence in the project, completing it quickly though he wasn't the lowest bid. Everything started out quite smoothly. They came out that Thursday to survey the location. Friday, they had a team come out dig out the path and mark where the steps go. I came out from work and made the adjustments to the steps to my satisfaction. Everyone agreed to the setup as laid out for Saturday's concrete pour. Unfortunately, on Saturday the concrete subcontractor took it upon himself to change the walkway layout without me or Shah's knowledge and set it in a way I didn't approve. When I spoke to Shah the next day I made him aware of this unauthorized change to the agreed upon concrete pour. He was very apologetic and resolved to fix the issue to my satisfaction. Since it was concrete it really couldn't be redone back to the way I desired. Why I still gave a five star review is because Shah wrote off the cost of the concrete pour from my bill since it wasn't laid as I desired and he resolved to discipline the subcontractor to not make any changes without his approval and the client's. So while the walkway isn't how I envisioned Shah compensated me to my satisfaction financially for this error."See more

  • Nationally, the average cost for resurfacing a 500-square-foot driveway ranges from $2,000 to $5,000.
  • Sealant for a concrete drive can cost $20-$80 per gallon.

What can concrete contractors do?

Concrete contractors can build foundations, structures, driveways, concrete storm drains, raise or level concrete patios and much more. They can handle every step of the process, starting with framing the mold that the concrete is poured into. They then cut, assemble and tie together the rebar, giving the concrete its tensile strength. Finally, they pour the concrete in, mixing and conditioning it to ensure it cures properly. They will also take steps to ensure that no air pockets are trapped within it.
