About

I have a great rapport with kids and I am extremely patient while still being able to connect with the kids that may be very high energy or distractable. I have a lot of experience with special needs children as well. Swimming is an important and empowering skill for all children to posses. I have also had great success with teaching adults at all levels, including preparation for swimming tests and triathlons. I currently coach youth club water polo when I'm not teaching swim. Seeing a child who started out really afraid of the water become comfortable and safe in the water.

Mr. Jon is an awesome swimming instructor! My two boys feared the water and hated swimming. After just 2 months and 15 minutes, twice a week, they now know how to swim! As a matter of fact, they don't even want to get out of the water. Private lessons with Mr. Jon proved to be more effective than with Floaties! He is very affordable!

I have my current Firsr Aid/CPR certification.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I played water polo and was on the swim team in high school and played water polo at junior college. Later I started teaching swim lessons. I quickly learned that I could really connect to kids and that they responded to my teaching methods very well. Coaching comes naturally to me.
