Joan is a great tutor. She helped me get an A in physics despite having a professor for the class who did a bad job teaching the subject.

Joan is the best tutor ever. She is super nice. She is also very smart and good at explaining concepts. It was fun to work with her!

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Chemistry and compatibility are keys to a successful tutoring relationship. I like to book 30 minute trial sessions with the student to see if we are a match for working together. This session is usually complimentary, and the prospective client has no obligation to book an additional session. Your satisfaction is top priority.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Earning an engineering degree from UC Berkeley was very challenging. Sometimes, a weekly problem set from one class could take 10 hours to complete. Making it through the program with A's and B's was quite difficult, but very rewarding. The degree deepened my understanding of Math and Science far beyond the high school level. Despite all the hard work and long nights, my love of math and physics prevailed and is the foundation of what I offer to my students.
