I cannot recommend Shane Muldoon Construction highly enough. Replacing a severely rotted structural post that supported our entry stairway was a complex and high-stakes project, and Shane and his two assistants handled it with exceptional skill. They carefully installed temporary shoring to safely support the stairs, then removed all compromised framing and siding with great attention to detail. The rebuild was done precisely and thoughtfully, including proper structural reinforcement, flashing, and a waterproof barrier, followed by siding and trim that seamlessly matched our home. The worksite was kept clean and organized throughout, and the final result is solid, watertight, and built to last. What could have been a stressful repair was completed smoothly and professionally, leaving our home safer and more secure than before.

Shane and crew did beautiful work installing trim in my 1880s Victorian. They treated the details with real care, taking the time to match profiles and make clean joints, where many carpenters would push for a more quick and dirty build. They checked in at the right moments with design questions to make sure every piece lined up exactly the way I wanted. Came prepared with the right tools and were a pleasure to work with. I’m thrilled with the result and would happily hire them again.

I had a great experience working with Shane. First, he was very responsive. I met with him the day after I put the request on thumbtack. In our first meeting he gave me a verbal estimate and quickly followed up a few hours later with a formal bid. He's a straight shooter, and I felt like I was getting a great deal. Second, I didn't know exactly what I needed to be built in my project (getting rid of a doorway between my kitchen and a bedroom), but Shane was a great partner in the creative process. He's really easy to work with. Third, he was able to save some crown molding from the original door frame and use it in the bedroom once the door was removed. This not only saved money, but it worked perfectly visually. A different carpenter had missed that detail in his estimate and assumed he would have to rebuild the molding from scratch. Also, for the baseboard in the bedroom, which is also hard to find (100 year old building), Shane copied the style and made it from a different type of molding. I am very happy with the finished product. On the bedroom side, you can't tell there was a door there. On the kitchen side, I have a nice decorative feature. Thanks Shane!

We hired S&M to install a barn door across an arched doorway in our condo. Shane did an excellent job. What I liked most was his sense of ownership of the project. Once we agreed to work with him, he did whatever was needed to ensure a good result. It was complicated by the fact that we were in the hospital for our second child’s birth for most of the project, so Shane’s sense of ownership was very valuable. Furthermore, the craftsmanship was very high quality. It was not the most straightforward project, and he figured out and executed an approach that led to a very professional outcome. We are highly satisfied and would work with Shane / S&M again with no hesitation. We highly recommend him / them.
