FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I hold a B.A. in English with a focus on children's literature, playwriting, and editing. My M.F.A. in Creative Writing is focused on non-fiction and travel essays. I am TEFL certified in teaching ESL for young learners and adults. I have taught in international schools abroad and nationally, as well as non-traditional settings such as farms, library after-school programs, and tutoring on site.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with children as young as 4 and adults as old as 65 providing creative writing services, whether it's poetry mentorships or writing cover letters for job applications. I have worked across diverse demographics, abroad in Egypt, Turkey, and the Republic of Georgia, as well as the international community in New York and on Long Island.

  • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

Through an after-school program with the New York Public Library, I have been working with a group of international high school students with remedial English speaking skills. The task was to help the students build their literacy, digital, and research skills and showcase this by creating a video essay on their perspective of "home." After two months of meeting 2x a week, the students are now able to create their own videos and blogs utilizing complex vocabulary expanding on their own perspective.
