"My kids absolutely love this Jiu-Jitsu class! As a parent, its amazing to see how excited they get for every single session. The instructors are phenomenalthey strike the perfect balance between keeping the class disciplined and making it incredibly fun and engaging for the children. Since starting, Ive seen a wonderful boost in my kids' confidence, focus, and coordination. The environment is safe, welcoming, and feels like a big family. I can't recommend this program enough for any parent looking to get their kids into a fantastic martial art!"

A recently opened gym, but from my very first class, I felt welcomed -- The coaches here aren't just teaching technique; they're gradually building a community. The members are patient, kind, and help push each other to improve each day. Can't wait to see how things progress!

Jerry is a fantastic instructor. He structures the class with a great mix of games, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, which keeps the young kids engaged throughout. He also makes a special effort to keep our daughterwho isnt always very interestedinvolved by making the class more playful and fun for her.

Started training at AVA Jiu-Jitsu Academy recently and honestly feel really lucky to have found this place. Professor Jerry does an amazing job breaking everything down step by step, making classes fun, technical, and beginner-friendly while still keeping a strong focus on fundamentals and safe training. What really makes AVA special though is the people and culture. Jerry, Ricardo, Yuri, Jonathan, Gi, and so many of the black, brown, and purple belts are all incredibly welcoming and willing to help. You can genuinely feel the culture of everyone growing and improving together, no matter your level. The gym feels more like a family than just a place to train!

Ive been training here for 2 months. Overall Ive done jiu jitsu for 7.5 years. In the last year this is my 4th gym. I left my first gym back in the summer and was looking for a better environment to learn and grow my jiu jitsu. My next two stops were okay and I came here because friends from my old gym joined and asked if I would check it out. Ive been happy since the moment I stepped through the door. Its a smaller gym but thats expected since its brand new. Its clean, both the mats and the area surrounding it. Everything looks new. Its decorated tastefully. For me the most important is the curriculum. I didnt want to just be showed moves. I wanted applicable jiu jitsu. The jiu jitsu is self defense based and puts an emphasis on being in a safe and dominant position. What I appreciate is that there is structure and a curriculum. Whether you show up on Monday morning or Thursday evening, the product and services does not change he. Its consistent. The move set and sequences feed off the previous week. Theres situational sparring that lets you put things together. Youll be able to practice and apply the technique of the day.I appreciate head professor Jerrys expertise and approach to teaching. Not one student is above the rest. The goal is to teach something for everyone that day. If I have questions, Jerry takes the time to explain them both in a way Id understand and also from a different view point. There is no substitute for experience and Jerry has plenty of it. There hasnt been anything hes shown me that he himself doesnt apply in those situations. Hes a great coach and a great teacher. He gets straight to the point. I came for an hour of jiu jitsu and thats the service he provided. In the last 2 months Ive seen and felt my jiu jitsu take steps forward that I wasnt able to achieve as well or quickly in my previous gyms.
