removed dirt, rocks, concrete from side of backyard. filled with top soil, placed sod & planted plants. Jamie responded promptly to my requests. He listened to what I wanted and gave his professional input and suggestions. After Jamie was finished he did a final walk through with me and gave detailed instructions on how to best care for the sod to ensure it continues to grow. My back yard looks a thousand times better! Jamie does outstanding work & we will never need to search for another landscaper for any future work again!
Level dirt, retaining wall, & concrete. Benito's team did a good job, finished as plan, and would hire to do another job.
SCL Concrete and Landscaping, did an excellent job installing a battery operated sprinkler system. He was prompt. And I will definitely use Sam from SFL Concrete and Landscaping. He really did an excellent job and a very honest person.
Ruben and his crew were amazing. They did a wonderful job and my concrete work was done fast. I would highly recommend Ruben for any concrete work.
Angel and his crew made two pillars and four below-ground concrete pylons as footing for a 4-legged gazebo to straddle a circular pavilion in my backyard. His crew also poured a 7’ x 2’ concrete slab in our side yard to function as a grill parking spot. Angel had car trouble the first day, which delayed the start of work to two days later than we had agreed on. His crew spread the work over three evenings, delaying another crew's start date for assembly of the gazebo by two days. The posted rate for Angel's work was $45/hour. When the work was finished, Angel presented me with a bill that would have charged $40 an hour for each of his crew's 5 laborers. Angel may be an engineer worth $45 an hour, but someone digging a hole for concrete does not earn $40 an hour, so we renegotiated. Angel received $45/hour, and each of his workers earned $20/hour. We declined to pay for hours when multiple workers were present, but only one of them was working, since the others were just waiting for Angel to arrive. In addition to wages and materials, we paid $150 for gas. Angel would have spent less on gas, if the work had been concentrated into fewer days, which I would have preferred. The end result is: the anchors are level. The two front pillars have air pockets as large as 0.5" h x 2.5" in the sides, indicating the cement wasn’t packed down well. (I will use filler to get a smooth surface, after which paint will be necessary to hide the filler.) The work started late, was spread over too many days, and the concrete pillars should not have the air pockets they have. On the up side, I appreciated how clean the worksite was when Angel finished. He also gave me a few expert answers to questions I had about other potential concrete projects. Angel is polite and knowledgeable. Even so, it is important to be very specific with your timeline, cost expectations, and aesthetics up front.
Had a small project requiring installing a concrete slab, Tui quoted a honest reasonable price for my project, he and his crew came out and finished the job in a no time. Would definitely recommend, if you need a job that needs done fast!
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=978276465653081&id=100004122092651 OK, so here's the deal... if you live in the Sacramento area and are looking to get some concrete work done, check out Lilo and 5 Star Concrete. (916)498-4499. He's a genuinely good guy, works with his two nephews, they work hard and do quality work for a good price. Give him a call and tell him I referred you. If I EVER need concrete work again, I won't even bother with putting out for a bid... PERIOD! I wasn't looking for anything fancy, just a brush finish slab at 4" with rebar, and he delivered beyond expectations. Professional, courteous and respectful. An absolute pleasure to do business with. And, if you're like me, and believe in supporting small business and the little guy, than this is the guy to go with. I was so impressed with him, his work, his attitude and everything, I tipped him a couple hundred extra for the job. Also, his work truck blew a head gasket while doing my job, so if you can, show the guy a little love for me. My tip won't go far to fix his truck, but maybe if he gets a job or two out of this it will. Even in the adversity of his truck breaking down, he kept his professionalism about himself so hire this guy and keep him and his family in business. America needs more guys like this! And, if you would be so kind, share this post... you never know who it'll reach to help him out. Doing so will make you a good human and bring you good karma!
My husband and I are re landscaping our front and back yards. We hired Philli to clean up the yards so we could have a blank slate to work off of. Philli and his brother worked incredibly hard removing a large concrete patio, metal fence, and many plants including a large walnut tree. Not only did they do a great job with a competitive price for their services, they were also such nice and genuine people to work with and talk to. Highly recommend!
CA Exteriors were fantastic to work with. When embarking on my hardscaping project I asked a no. of folks (6 in total) to visit to quote me for work. I provided my budget info. CA Exteriors were the only group to listen to my budget, and were also the promptest to get back to me. Mark came on site, reviewed the space, and our requirements, then spent time whilst on site to generate a quote. I met Ken, and some other colleagues, and work proceeded. Ca exteriors were the most professional to work with. I like the fact they wanted to get the job done quickly, on budget while taking into account our thoughts e.g. other companies took 4-6 weeks to give me a ball park quote which was 3-4x my budget! the work here for concrete steps, patio, and some lighting has exceeded expectations. I would recommend CA Exteriors to anyone planning work similar to ours.
Josh and his crew did an excellent job on our driveway and walkway at an affordable and competitive price. We've had many compliments since he completed the job and I find myself referring him quite often. We will use him in the future for all of our concrete needs. Highly recommend.
This is an excellent company headed by Steve Brown. The work that he and his people did was most excellent. The price was well worth it. I would hire him and A and S Quality Concrete Inc again. I recommend them without reservation.
Good company. Took longer for cleanup than promised. Small defect in part of concrete, quick fix did not work. But all in all I'm satisfied.
Charlie was one of the first to reach out. My wife and I were at work and couldn't meet, but the patio we needed was going in the front yard so access to the house was not a problem. After exchanging some messages and discussing the project, Charlie was able to head out to our house, evaluate the project, give some professional input, and give me a quote on the spot... all through the Thumbtack website messaging system. We even exchanged pictures, etc., to ensure we were on the same page. Charlie's price was more than competitive. We ended up going with someone else who was recommended by a family member because that person discounted his own cost/profit as a favor to us and our family member... That was NOT a reflection on Charlie! If not for that savings, Concrete Solutions was our choice! I can only speak to the quote process, but if that is any indication, Charlie is definitely someone worthy of at least getting a call if you're looking for concrete work. No pressure, just professionalism!
Ben communicate constantly with dates that he could do the concrete work. Finally we had a date that worked and it came out amazing. I was not able to be home and it came out like I envisioned. When he was done it didn't even look like he was there but the perfect concrete was. Thank you so much Ben. Can't wait to call you for the next pour.
These guys are terrific! Came out and gave a reasonable bid and started the job ASAP... It was a small job (work area under deck)... They had some great ideas on how to integrate the concrete slab into the existing layout... That was a great suggestion!!! I certainly had not considered there proposal... Great job!!! Excellent experience all the way around...
Roy Spulding was outstanding! he was very responsive and professional in our initial contacts, provided a bid that was between $1300 and $2300 LOWER than others and, with his assistant, Brian, did a superb job. Everything was as promised in terms of timeliness and quality and Roy was charming and appreciative.

Alex did a wonderful job with our backyard. the project was to pour concrete for about 1000 sq ft in the backyard, and he completed the project within the time he promised and the quality of work by his crew is very good.
They were very responsive and quick to do the work at a fair price. I didn't even know how versatile they were in doing this concrete grinding. Happy with the work and would have them do more work in the future. Thanks
It was terrific working with George! He did an outstanding job on our backyard pavers, river rock and stamped concrete. He is very dependable, hard working, and detail oriented. George made this project enjoyable by providing solid communication and helping determine the design implementation. I'm happy to refer George to people who are looking for excellent value and great quality. Adam H., Livermore, CA
