Toni's passion for her job was evident from the first email we exchanged. After reviewing four responses we chose to meet with Toni to go over our plans. We decided to hire her on the spot at that very first meeting. If you have the need of an interior designer, give Toni the chance to meet with you. She's got a great sense of style, wonderful personality, and the skill, experience, and contacts you'll need to complete whatever project you have in mind. We were very happy and will contact her again if we need her services in the future.Aug 14, 2015Verified
The highlight of this process was the ease of using Thumbtack to get in touch with a professional. After making contact, all other services were very unfulfilling. Booked with Thumbtack, had a 15 minute phone conversation with TLN Interiors describing my exact requests and ideas for service. For my wife's birthday present I wanted TLN Interiors to come and help us lay out our 2 living rooms as we just moved into a new home 1 month prior. They stated they understood what I was looking for and gave ideas for how her assistant would help in the process to make my needs come to life. Discussed tapping spaces, measurements, and moving furniture into ideal places. What I received was nothing close to our agreement, and it was a waste of time. My wife now feels we were scammed for her birthday and this service was the worst gift idea I have ever had. 1. Spent the majority of the time walking around the whole home talking, with majority of conversation not pertaining to our design needs. The 2 rooms were not focused on as discussed. 2. The "assistant" that came was the person's daughter who ended up taking pictures for half of the time then going outside to sit in the car for the remainder of the time. However, we paid for the "assistant" for the whole time and the pictures that were taken were lost. After I contacted this company over a month later for follow up I was told they lost the pictures and would need to come back and do it all over again $$$. I appeased and sent my own photos and took measurements. 3. It has been 4 months and there was no follow up. Horrible service and would never recommend this to anyone. We literally paid money for someone to walk in and out of our home without doing a thing.Dec 20, 2018Verified
When we purchased our 1980’s, contemporary home, we knew we wanted to make some updates, but also wanted to honor the unique architecture. We also knew we’d need the help of a professional interior designer to achieve our goals,. We were very fortunate to find Toni Nulton, of TLN Interiors on Thumb Tack. She was the first one to respond but, also had more experience than anyone else that contacted us. Initially Toni spent a few hours getting to know us and our goals. When she brought design ideas and samples for us to review we liked all of them! It was evident from the beginning that she was a great listener and really “got” us. Toni was our guide through the whole process. The contractors Toni brought in paid great attention to details and were very professional. It was comforting to know she had experience working with all of them. Toni worked closely with all of the contractors to coordinate schedules and ensure all the materials were delivered on time. We are so happy with the way everything turned out! It is above and beyond anything we could have imagined. We can’t thank Toni and her team enough for making our house, our forever home.May 23, 2019Verified
I can’t say enough about Toni. Her professionalism, knowledge of design and construction, willingness to help, and generally just a nice lady, made the time I spent with her worth every penny. I needed a roadmap for our 6 month construction project. She was great at outlining ideas, confirming and correcting our plans, and offering suggestions I hadn’t even thought of, which was exactly why I hired her. Prompt, responsive, and extremely pleasant. Do yourself a favor for a big project and hire her for the 2 hour time slot. Even if you think you know what you want, she gets you thinking about your decisions, and for the better. I think my designs will be much better off for this consultation, which is axactly what I needed. Sometimes you need someone to ask you questions to determine what you even want, because there are so many decisions to make. I am changing much of what I thought I wanted because of her. Not just suggestions, but simple questions. She didn’t try to steer me to something I told her I didn’t want. But 3 days later and I caught myself cooking dinner and asking myself how I really use my kitchen every day and what would make it better. I thought of some things she said and asked myself if those choices weren’t better.Dec 10, 2017Verified
Toni’s knowledge of design and her experience in construction make an excellent combination. She also asks questions to understand what you need. We utilized her services to remodel the majority of our home in three projects over three years and are extremely satisfied with the results.Mar 26, 2019
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Normal process is a time of interview; both for the client and myself. We talk about the project and I take notes of the needs. These notes are reviewed to become the "scope of work". This helps us arrive at the amount of time needed to meet these goals and therefore my cost to do them. I've found this to be the most fair way to approach a new assignment.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Once I acknowledged that I wanted to become an Interior Designer for residential I started to apply the Art History courses (about all they had when I started) in that direction. I helped UCI start their Internship for Residential Design. I later took additional courses teaching me about Kitchen and Bath design and structure through both NARI and NKBA.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?Growing up in Orange County, CA. my father had 4 furniture stores by the time I was 15. I grew up around many beautiful homes and started assisting customers at 16.
