Rummy is a supper professional architect specialized in ADU's and Additions. Rummy is currently in a process of submitting the drawing for one property i own while she is working on other one i own. The first one she did for me include home addition and complete re-configuration of the entire house. For my other property she is adding ADU and JADU and remodel the main house. All i can say that she is the most dedicated architect i ever worked with. She has great ideas and as a person who already build for herself she can give you the inside out and added value to your knowledge. I like working with Rummy, she is available, she has a great relationship with the city of San Diego and she knows what they are requiring so your permit process may be shorter.

We were faced with the challenge of building an ADU on top of our single-car garage on a narrow lot, limiting us to just one bedroom. After a less than satisfactory experience with another designer, we brought in Rummy Dechner to tackle the job.Rummy's design expertise shone through as she presented us with a fantastic floor plan that maximized our limited space. The unique feature of steps leading up from the street gave us the option to add a loft floor, cleverly stacking them one on top of the other. This design innovation allowed us to choose between a loft-style one-bedroom or an open office space integrated with the living room.The result was a charming and surprisingly spacious ADU, despite the constraints of a single-car garage width. Rummy's innovative approach and thoughtful design transformed our space into something truly special. We're thrilled with the outcome!"

We enlisted Rummy Dechner to design our ADU and JADU, situated in the right corner of our lot. The spacious area on the right side of our house can potentially serve as a driveway for the ADU, even though there's no curb cut currently. This space will function as a private walkway connecting the main house to the ADU and JADU. Rummy had an ingenious suggestion: create a workshop at the front, adjacent to the JADU and under the ADU. This forward-thinking approach allows us to plan for the future. When the time comes, we can easily add a new curb cut and transform the workshop area into a garage with an extended driveway for additional guest parking. Rummy's idea offers us incredible flexibility down the road. Thank you, Rummy!
