Introduction: I provide painting that will last you for years. I take pride in quality work rather than fast, cheap work. I treat every project as if I were painting my own home. The finer details are extremely important. I've worked in the painting industry as a sales rep for Kelly Moore for 6 years, as well as been a painter for just as long.

Friendly at first, but she left the project have completed, not much communication. Paint splatter was all over the walls. I should not have paid upfront per her request.

Details: Home • 1 room • Doors • 8 - 10 feet (standard ceiling) • Repainting, with a color change • Repainting, with same color • Excellent - clean and smooth • Homeowner or property manager • No, this is not new construction • No, I will move things out of the way myself

Meranda The Painter's reply
Thank you for sharing your experience. When you contacted me for my services, you listed the job details as being "one more coat of paint" and stated that you yourself had already applied primer and one coat of paint. Your project included way more than that. It was an entire repaint job, with additional colors and color changes after the initial estimate was given, repairs of cabinets that were not listed. Ms Gross, you painted over hardware and lost components of the hinges that made reattaching the doors to the casings not possible. During your job that you advertised as needing "just one more coat of paint", you had multiple contractors and other jobs going on. Your communication was nonexistent resulting in me taking multiple trips from Union City to Redwood City just to find out upon arrival that you had overbooked and neglected to contact me to let me know that I would not be able to work the days you confirmed I'd be able to. I would contact you when on-site to let you know I was unable to work due to the concrete contractors, tile guys, flooring installers, and others being on-site working in the areas my job was going on. Your response when I'd contact you in those instances were, "OH shoot! I forgot. Go check with ---- to see if/when you can work". And even though, due to your inability to communicate with me, I never asked for the gad wasted or bridge tolls racked up to be compensated. You were so pleased with my painting ability and results with the kitchen cabinets that you asked me if I could paint the cabinets in both of your bathrooms as well. Because you had not started those cabinets yourself, I was able to get both bathrooms painted and finished quickly. I was able to do that because I removed the hardware before working and painting on the cabinets allowing me to reattach the doors after painting was completed. After the bathroom cabinets where reinstalled, I contacted you for the location of the wall paint because there was an area where I had gotten overspray. You let me know that the touch paints for all of the 6 different wall and trim colors in your condo was outside in patio closet. I found the appropriate color to make sure I touched up any overspray left on the surrounding areas. That is always the last step when completing a painting job. After I had finished removing the primer and paint you had applied yourself to the kitchen cabinets and casings, and priming, sanding, and applying 2 coats of top coat (which was advertised as being one color when you actually wanted 2 colors-cream for top and baby pooh brown for the bottoms) I was able to find all the necessary screws to reattach the doors to the casings. I also was unable to find the shelf pegs to install the shelving back to their proper places. You told me that if I purchased the missing hardware that you would reimburse me for the purchases. I was able to buy shelf pegs, which you still have yet to reimburse me for, and I let you know that I was unable to find and purchase the hinge screws individually. You texted me letting me know that you would order them offline so they would be available for me to finish my job. YOU NEVER CONTACTED ME THAT THE HARDWARE HAD ARRIVED FOR ME TO COMPLETE MY JOB!!! But Ms Gross, what you did do was open a dispute with PayPal requesting a full refund of the money you had paid (which included a tip amount of $125 when you acknowledged the amount of addition work I was not charging you for and agreed to do that YOU INSISTED I ACCEPT). You claimed that the services you received were not as described and that I had left SO MUCH OVERSPRAY ON SURROUNDING AREAS when you already had knowledge of and knew that I touch up at the end of the job. You have a fully completed job minus the reattachment of the finished doors. As soon as you found an opportunity to get THIS JOB AS FREE LABOR, Ms Gross, YOU DID NOT HESITATE TO DO SO! You have put me under $800 with PayPal, you have material that I brought with me to the job that you did not pay for that you refuse to return in the amount of $125, you never reimbursed me as promised for the extra expenses made to complete your job, and you have contacted your credit card company to get the charge of $800 reversed. You are a dishonest person Ms Gross. I gave you multiple opportunities to correct your false claims and to just go our separate ways. You have failed to do so and you have committed fraud, defamation of my business by posting false accusations of events that did not occur, you have stolen material belonging to me and refuse to return it. Lucky for me I am a subcontractor and I will be exercising my right to see that a lein is put on your property until the amount you still owe is paid. Lucky for me as well, I have awesome legal counsel onboard in suing you for the fraudulent activity, defamation of my business on multiple platforms. Ms Gross, it has been a pleasure working with you and I want to personally THANK YOU for refreshing my knowledge in making sure all my T's are crossed and my I's are dotted and to keep my awareness up regarding there are just some people out there looking to scam hardworking single mothers for free labor. SHAME ON YOU MS GROSS, AND AGAIN, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Meranda is great! She is extremely knowledgeable and attention to detail is spot on. She even came back and did minor touch ups after my jerk face floor installs scratched up the walls. Meranda was super communicated on arrival time, which I really appreciate since I work from home and have various meetings. Highly recommended her.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge a base fee per cabinet facing/drawer. My pricing includes material cost as well.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've worked in the paint industry for years. I have product knowledge that I gained from working on a management team for Kelly Moore Paint Company, and knowing what products to use for projects is an important part.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have always been a "hands-on" type of gal. My love for art and my training I received in cosmetology, surprisingly, play a huge part in why I started painting. I love making people happy and forming lasting relationships with people. Painting allows me to network with customers and allows me to see joy on their faces when their projects finally are done.
