Introduction: I earn a living doing what I love - writing and researching. If the topic is new to me, I enjoy the challenge and may devote up to 2 days in the discovery phase of my project. While my passion is writing, my purpose is helping people find the work they love. It is always a pleasure to meet and get to know privileged details about my clients via e-mail, telephone, and face-time. Although most client speak excitedly about their careers and their futures, some arrive feeling down about their career potential. Once I have written a resume that optimizes their assets and have assured them that I will always remain their job search guru, they depart with markedly higher self-esteem. Finally, I can indulge my addiction for learning. During my federal career (18 years), I always made time - even working unpaid to offset my workplace absence - so I could complete courses that added to my professional expertise. As a professional writer and job coach, I continually educate myself via on-line training and by reading the latest career industry best-sellers.

    Most of my clients are mid-level through executive professionals with over 10 years of experience. At these levels, clients may have risen through the ranks of one company, built their career with several job changes, or shined as entrepreneurs. Either way, they have earned a substantial amount of experience, skill, training, and many professional accolades. With so much to offer, they now wonder how to showcase themselves to employers who may not want generalists but technology smart, forward thinking specialists who can solve specific problems.   • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Some criteria for selecting a qualified resume writer are: (A) Years of professional writing experience, proven by (B) Certification and/or Training from legitimate sources; (C) Validation of membership status at Association web sites; (D) Publication of resumes, cover letters, articles in real books, legitimate web sites, and blogs (not plagiaristic, machine-translated sites); (E) 1-2 Resume samples available on-line or by request; (F) Endorsements from colleagues and customers on LinkedIn, Facebook "Likes," web page testimonials; (G) Ability to critique your resume, revealing weaknesses that could cost you an interview; (H) Absence of irrefutably negative press (not merely a jealous competitor); (I) Ability to communicate often with your writer throughout the project by phone or by e-mail. Finally, (J) follow your gut instinct: If (after taking all these precautions) you like your writer at first meeting or phone call, you are probably a good match and embarking on an enlightening experience.
