FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do have continuing education units that I have to take to keep up my license as a respiratory therapist here in the state of California. I do attend seminars and AHA meetings and attend conventions on emergency medicine as well.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I kind of just fell into it. I liked teaching, so it only seemed like a natural fit that I become an CPR instructor. Then I took to teaching the Advanced Life Support courses for adults, infants and children and the rest is history.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
A lot of what I do is remediation. Many students already know the basics, it's just they don't work with it everyday, so they forget it. But once they are in my class, I do manage to bring out what they have already learned and add to their knowledge base. I often tell students that I am not going to teach them information that they don't already know, I'm just going to bring it out of them. By the end of class, not only have they remembered what they learned before, but they also learned a few new items as well.
