Gustavo and his crew took care of everything from start to finish. Very professional company and listened to everything I asked for. From start to finish, the project was completed on time and looks amazing. In fact, they were so amazing that they will be maintaining our property every month. Very trustworthy and honest! They even sent me photos of my backyard after it was complete. Project: backyard landscape and design which included sprinkler system and drop irrigation. Installed trees, shrubs, flowers, and sod with a beautiful retaining wall.

I would highly recommend hiring Joe Peredo for your project. He promptly answered my request, came out in a timely manner, and was able to access my needs right away. He gave me a quote the first visit and was able to come out within a few days and fix my sprinkler system. He always came exactly when he said he would. He was very professional, kind, and easy to talk too. He explained everything to me very well before starting. I also plan on using his services for some cement work that I need done.

This is my 2nd home that Rudy has installed a surround system & again he has impressed me with his work. The quality equipment installed for the price and the time from order to install was impressive. Everything was done within a week. I would recommend Innovative Construction to anyone looking to have a top of the line system for their home.

Humberto was wonderful to work with. He is very knowledgeable about the old metal pipe that my sprinkler system was built with in the 1950's, and about which sections should be replaced and which we could live with for a few more years. And he saved me money by recommending that we seed the lawn rather than put in sod. He will go above and beyond to make sure that your job is done correctly and within budget.

I had my sprinkler system repaired, new timer replaced, all new valves installed. Also he added drip irrigation to the flower beds to conserve water and added new sprinkler heads to an area that didn't have existing lines. He did fabulous work. He did a total yard clean up which includes weekly fertilizing and weed control. It was a little pricey but well worth it. I am so satisfied with the work.

Daniel came and did some work on my yard. I needed some seed planted on the side of my home and the front and back mowed. Daniel took the time to check the sprinkler system, and noticed 2 sprinklers needed to be replaced. He went ahead and replaced them for me. I also had 2 bushes and a few rose bushes i was going to clean up and trim myself. Daniel, knowing his job (and knowing it very well), noticed what needed to be done and did it on his own. As much as i love to be out in my yard, doing my gardening, Daniel did such a great job, that I asked of he could come twice a month to do whatever i may have missed or didnt have time to do. With 8 grandkids and my regular housework, i now have a little extra time for my other hobbies. I was so pleased with his work that I referred him to 3 other friends, who were also pleased with Daniel's work. With times being the way they are, I dont mind having Daniel do what I know I can do myself. Simply because of the extra time it now gives me to do other things. So if you are looking for someone who knows his job well, I would strongly suggest you give him a call too. Thank you Daniel. ☺

    About

I give Irrigation System consultations by phone, email, text and Skype. Our if you need me to meet you onsite for a consultation, I can schedule one for you with in 100 miles of my base. Only on special consultations will i travel longer distances. My phone and online services I offer anywhere in the United States. If I am doing a onsite consult I may be able to make some lite repairs if needed while im there, such as drip system, clean and adjust sprinklers, re set irrigation timers, and check valves among other various small repairs. Somtimes this is all you need saving you big $$$ by not having to call a Big Lanrscape company, but the bigger jobs should be saved for them when a whole crew is needed. These days we need to save all the water and money we can! In this long drought, we need to save water and energy while caring for our landscapes. I operated a landscape maintenance and irrigation company for 21 years and worked as a seasonal volunteer for Calfire and The National Park Service as a firefighter and in fire prevention. I have retired and am now looking for some extra work back in the irrigation business again, helping people to keep their landscapes alive with less water and finding a new plan for their needs in the yard and our grounds.

    About

I install and fix residential irrigation systems. I do drip irrigation for your flowers and for your grass, plus the normal pop-up systems.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a landscape contractor do?

Landscape contractors work from outdoor architectural or design plans to build and install hardscaping or softscaping for the client, much as a general contractor uses architectural designs to build a house. Landscape contractors are experts in soil drainage, grading, hardscaping (installing concrete paths and retaining wall, building ponds, etc.), and planting. They have heavy equipment such as excavators and tractors to prepare the land as needed.

Some landscape contractors are also landscape architects or landscape designers. The titles can be compared with those in home construction: A building or landscape architect must earn a specialized architecture degree and pass an exam to have a license. A designer — whether an interior designer or a landscape designer — does not usually require a license to work. Landscape contractors are not required by law to work from plans designed by a landscape architect, so you may work directly with the landscape contractor to specify the work you’d like done. The national average cost for large-scale landscaping projects is $10,160. Pricing can vary greatly depending on the project scope, materials and design.

How do you find a good landscape architect?

Hiring a landscape architect is an investment in your home. Landscaping can reduce water bills, improve your home resale value, add to your daily living experience and significantly boost curb appeal. A landscape architect will draw the designs for your new landscape; you’ll want to hire a landscape contractor to carry out the plans. Many companies provide design-build landscaping services, with a company architect creating plans for your vision and the landscape contractor executing the vision. With the proper academic background and licensing, a person can be both landscape architect and landscape contractor. Here are a few tips for finding a great landscape architect:

    • Research online portfolios and find several landscape architects whose work interests you.
    • Read online reviews of client experiences.
    • Research whether the landscape architects you are interested in are currently licensed and in good standing with the licensing board, and check whether any complaints have been issued against them. Each state will have their own searchable database. For example, you can search for California landscape architects via the state’s Department of Consumer Affairs.
    • Request bids from your selected landscape architects.
    • Hire the one you like the most, taking care to have a clearly written contract outlining scope of work.

What should you look for when hiring a landscaper?

Landscaping can be costly — though it usually pays off in curb appeal and home resale value — so finding a landscaper who is worth the investment is important. When hiring a landscaper, look for proven success with the type of results you want. For example, if you know you want a drought-tolerant yard, research websites, reviews and portfolios that showcase beautiful drought-tolerant yards that the landscaper has installed. In addition to relevant experience, you’ll want to find a landscape contractor who has good client reviews. Good communication skills are another important quality in a landscape contractor, since everything from plant selection to hardscape installation needs to be discussed and agreed upon. A landscape contractor who is reliable, easy to understand and able to listen to what you want will help make the process seamless and enjoyable.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
