Introduction: I am an award winning graphic designer and marketing consultant and owner of Nickell Designs and Marketing. I have over 25 years experience in non-profit, media advertising, business and event marketing. I have a wide background of design and production experience for many types of marketing mediums for small businesses, large corporations, health care and non-profit events. I offer professional graphic design services for print and online marketing including a variety of specialty sizes, formats and media. I also provide business/event consulting and support services such as print order management and media budget planning and placement. I have excellent contacts and access to the best printers, brand production companies, event logistics experts and strategic planning gurus on the west coast! I take pride is customizing a unique brand for each and every client to help them gain the look they deserve and the market share and customers they strive to gain. Nickell Design and Marketing designed the BEST "friendship cards" for me and my horse. Not only are they fantastic and just what I wanted, but the service was impeccable! Friendship cards are like business cards. I wanted some to take with me when I attended equine conferences and compete in equine competitions. I expressed just what I liked and she made me the perfect cards. Every time I show them..people just love them. Nickell Design and Marketing also made me a short "trailer movie" of me and my horse and it was just absolutely stunning. The detail, the thought, the design, the time involved...the music....it was perfect. Eveyone who see its cannot believe how wonderful it is! I highly recommend Holly for any of your marketing needs. All you have to do is tell her what you want...and BANG.....its done!

Any project for my girls are special but the surprise poster designs for their rooms or the random "call Holly" for ideas and Christmas and Birthday card design just puts a smile on my face. Somehow we as a team come up with some funny, crazy creations and themes that are 2nd to none! :) H

It's been a fun experience developing the look of your mailers to deciding which photos were perfect for the Nixon Christmas card. This week's President's Day special guest speaker/drawing cards were also exciting and unique as you allow me to have some creative freedom but with great direction. I have utilized Nickell Design for both professional and personal publications. Each time Holly was able to put my thoughts, desires and/or rough drafts into brilliant work! She has taken plain looking pamphlets and turned them into eye catching art, while still keeping the business integrity & messaging in the forefront. She is a great to work with, gives excellent feedback and follow thru. I won't look anywhere else for design and marketing ideas.

Holly helped design and coordinate Chamber directories for us in 2015 and did a marvelous job...both Chamber presidents said they were by far the best books done. Her attention to detail is outstanding.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge by the hour and I am very fast and organized which my many references would confirm.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am very easy to work with and start by asking the customer what their design goals are, what the priorities are (event logo, business card, poster, ad, billboard), if they have a art deadline they need it by and what the best way they like to communicate via text, email or by phone. I also ask what their budget is so this helps me know the number of hours I have to work with to reach their design goals. If their immediate design budget does not fit with the amount of tasks, I explain how much design work I can get completed and adjust from there. Most times, customers are pleased with the progress and quality of my designs and we stretch the projects out over an extended time if they need a larger budget.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Graphic design and marketing education at Fresno State University, New York University, UCLA as well as online courses.
