With over 15 years of experience choreographing, teaching and directing in the Southern California dance community, I provide quality training at affordable rates. With roots as a street dancer, I have formulated a style of choreography and teaching based on the fundamentals of hip-hop. I’ve done some dance before, mostly with just college courses, but always felt like there was something missing. Jay helped me fill in all those gaps and face some of my biggest stumbling blocks. I could do some choreo mostly by copying others and memorization but I always fell extremely short when it came to freestyle, comfortability in my own body, self-expression, self-confidence and physical confidence (I’m more of the overthinker and analytical type - a software engineer). Truth be told, some of that is really hard to face, and that’s exactly what happens in our sessions. Paired with strong observational skills, he zooms in and picks something to focus on that is directly related to that area of improvement. Some of it is mindset, some of it is technical, and some of it is a type of process either in class or for homework. Not sure how Jay teaches his other students but definitely expect something challenging, backed by a genuine intention to see you improve as a dancer.

I booked Jay for one session but it was amazing. He made me feel comfortable, he corrected my technique, gave me tips to do better and there was no judgement. I hate I didn’t continue but I will be coming back very soon as I had some personal issues I had to deal with but he is definitely someone I would recommend. Aw yea his dancing style is so dope!!

He is so great!!! He taught me how to dance period. Was patient, super instructive, and didn’t care that I was a pure rookie. Will continue working with him. I’m confident after working with him and I can’t ask for anything more.
