We woke up on a Saturday morning to our garage full of water. On top of the clean-up and worries about water damage we had no hot water - no dishes, no showers, no baths, no laundry. As a mom of two young children I couldn’t wait until Tuesday to have a new water heater installed Aqua Stat responded with an estimate, availability and a plan. Our engineer was on time, quickly assessed the pipe and platform needs and got to work. He worked for 4 hours straight and past 5pm to get us hot water. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?My pricing system is pretty straight-forward: Either we charge a flat rate of an hourly rate, depending on the type of project. Often times, an under-slab sewer lateral replacement, for instance, and the customer will end up paying more than what we estimated. Nevertheless, we always work with our customers and make sure they don't feel robbed or taken advantage of in any way shape or form. A flat-rate system really works well when you know more or less how long it's going to take to make repairs, but can't always charge a flat rate, especially on a large project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?We make an appointment and go over the project. We let people know our work process and what to expect. We also discuss price, start date, etc
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Of course, plumbing is just like any other profession, you must stay on top of the latest technology or fall behind. I myself, try to keep my eyes and ears open about training dates on new technology and such. If you love what you do for a living, there is no question that you never stop learning, but you must be willing and open to new learning. Plumbing is no different than any other profession...you learn something new every day.
