Elizabeth N. says, "Absolutely Amazing Violinist! We hired Cleber to play at my sister-in-law’s baby shower, which was an elegant tea party, and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience! His violin music was the perfect addition to our celebration. The music was beautiful, and the volume was just right for a tea party setting. It created such a lovely atmosphere while allowing our guests to comfortably enjoy their conversations. From the very beginning, Cleber was amazing to work with. When I first reached out, I was so pleased with how quickly he responded. He communicated very well throughout the entire planning process, was punctual, and conducted himself with the utmost professionalism. I also appreciated that he provided a contract for our event, which made everything feel organized and seamless. We were so happy with his performance, and our guests loved having the beautiful violin music in the background. He truly helped make our celebration even more special. I highly recommend Cleber to anyone looking for a talented, professional, and reliable violinist for their event. He is amazing, and we would absolutely love to work with him again!"See more

Jaybird C. says, "I'm an adult starter violist (from age 38). I'm now 5 yrs into it, and I play 10+ concerts a year with a local university orchestra, chamber groups, a quartet, and even fusion bands and occasional paid gigs! Leon is a master teacher who understands the ins and outs of learning process, and he makes adjustments on-the-fly, in order for us to meet my goals. My learning needs are definitely non-traditional. With every lesson, I bring in something I'd like to be able to learn (oftentimes unreasonable). But Leon sees it as a challenge and a puzzle, and somehow finds a way for me to learn the piece. And in the process, my knowledge and skills increase. I've also had the privilege of sitting in on advanced/professional players taking violin lessons from Leon. He seamlessly transitions from topics of artistic expression to elemental techniques to musicology in the same discussion relevant to the lesson topic. In any endeavor, it's not easy coming across a master teacher. You will be in good hands, whether you are an adult starter, a child, a beginner, or an advanced player preparing for auditions, or even a professional player looking for a confidential second set of ears. Leon is also very flexible with appointments. I personally have most of my lessons during weekday day times (as I work weeknights), and some weekends. He's also accommodated emergency lessons and instrument repairs on occasions! Attached photo is of me rehearsing on the stage of the Davies Symphony Hall, and also few other adventures that opened up thanks to learning music!"See more

Quincy W. says, "We feel so lucky to have found Beti! She is an incredibly talented and patient violin teacher who truly knows how to connect with kids and inspire a love for music. She worked with my 9-year-old daughter both in person (at our home) and over Zoom, and the progress my daughter made was amazing. When she started, she was brand new to the violin — now she not only plays beautifully for her age but genuinely loves playing. I never have to remind her to practice — she picks up her violin on her own! If you're looking for a violin teacher who is skilled, kind, and truly dedicated to her students' growth, I highly recommend Beti. She's made a huge impact on our musical journey, and we’re so grateful!"See more

Play the violin with ease, freedom, and joy then apply it to classical, bluegrass, blues, and jazz. Find your own sound and share it. Private and group lessons are offered as well as opportunities to play for peers. Rashmi S. says, "It was a joy to learn about classical music from Jim. My background is primarily in art and literature, and he often relayed information through metaphor so that it would be understandable to me in terms that I am am passionate about. We talked about phrasing like narrative arcs and about the importance of silence, the color of sound. What I loved most in learning from Jim is his passion and reverence for classical repertoire, especially Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, and also his way particular appreciation for chamber music. He is no doubt a gifted player, but also a natural and vibrant teacher, who makes music come alive to everyone. He has an especially unique way of demonstrating varied ways musicians and conductors can interpret the exact same score, and this learning through comparison helped train my ear to become more discerning and to constantly pay more attention as a listener. I highly recommend Jim to serious students in viola or violin performance, but also to students like me who are looking to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of this art form but do not know how to begin. I can say with confidence with you will never think about music the same way again after lessons with Jim."See more
