I have a cactus garden that was very overgrown. Dangerous work! I also wanted some of the cacti transplanted to my backyard. Mr. Torres came on a Sunday, started work and did not stop until the job was done. He is more a landscape designer, then just a gardener. His crew ,by his side he sculped my cactus and transplanted and shaped them into a beautiful garden. It looks beautiful. He wants to please his customers and he reaches that goal. I would highly recommend him.He is now my official cactus expert.!

Greg's team were all amazing, friendly and experienced professionals! They were on time, successfully completed a very big job in just one day and demonstrated extraordinary excellence in completely cleaning up a large front and back yard that had been neglected for many years. Highlights included removing several big cedar trees, extracting countless jade plants and cleaning up yard waste from cutting back ice plant and trimming bird of paradise and bougainvillea. GM Landscaping is THE BEST and I give them my highest recommendation! I look forward to working with them again!

Eric and his associate did a wonderful job transforming 3 of our wild and untamed planters into 1 patio extension an 2 beautiful flower beds. He also found and planted to small palms to match one we already had. Everything was done in a timely manner in time for a backyard party we had. Thanks Eric! (I'll add proper before/after photos when I get the chance and think about it)

We just bought a new home and had a completely dirt backyard that we wanted to get landscaped. We hired David right away after meeting with him because he was easy to work with and gave us a great bid that worked with our budget. He also gave us a military discount. We got a mix of concrete and grass in our backyard, which was perfect for our kids so they could play in the backyard and ride their bikes and scooters. We also got an alumawood patio installed that went from end to end of the back of our house. He also gave us a great deal when it came to hooking up our outdoor lighting. We also got a garden wall and sprinklers installed. We are under a pretty strict HOA community because we live in a new housing development and David is well aware of most HOA restrictions. Took him awhile to get us the plans we needed to submit to HOA but we eventually got them and they were approved. Also, a section of our grass in our backyard began to die because the sprinklers were not hitting the area properly and David was willing to replace the sod and add an additional sprinkler. We had a great experience with him and we are definitely going to come back to him when we are ready to hardscape our front yard. Great contractor that is always willing to work with you to make sure you get what you want!

We are thrilled to have found Francisco! Reluctantly and with much trepidation, my extremely picky husband agreed to hire a garden service. - "No one will manicure my lawn the way I like it!" After a couple of negative experiences, we heard about Francisco Ramos. Francisco with his work quality, professionalism, garden knowledge and expertise, and work ethic are all the things my husband and I were looking for in a garden service. We have the greatest of confidence in all the work he does for us always going above and beyond from tree and shrub trimming, slope clearance, rose pruning, and most importantly, manicuring our lawn! We couldn't be more pleased and highly recommend Francisco Ramos Garden Service!

Jason has been extremely easy to work with. We had a lot of overgrown things in our new backyard and he was not only quick but affordable. We also have 2 dogs which is sometimes hard to work with. He was very flexible and even helped us with building some garden boxes so we can get our garden going!

We asked Form & Focus to design and re-landscape our front, side and back yards to give us a Southwest Zen feel. Their designer, Katie, worked closely with us to give us just what we wanted working within our budget. Her design included a Japanese style Zen garden (at our request) and new flagstone patio while using colorful stone to significantly reduce the area of our yard that needed watering. We did keep some areas of lawn, but used a new type of drought resistant grass called UC Verde buffalo grass (developed specifically for California by the University of California) that can be maintained at a meadow length, and which fits in perfectly with our natural Zen approach. The project took about 2 weeks to install and was carefully supervised by Jacob and Aaron on a daily basis. They worked with us to make adjustments to the various areas of the design as we moved along, so that everything was sized and shaped to our specs. Their people arrived promptly every day and worked through 100+ degree heat to keep us on schedule, cleaning up each night before they left. Here's what they did for us: demolition of existing landscape, installation of artificial turf, installation of flagstone/decomposed granite walkway/patio, installation of Zen garden including a 1,200 pound boulder, conversion to drip sprinkler system, installation of borders and decorative rock, installation of drought resistant grass and plants throughout. They were a pleasure to work with and I would not hesitate to use Form & Focus for future work.

Claudia has been tending to my tiny garden for over a year now. She selected the pIants and design after a brief consult with me and the finished product was exactly what I had pictured! (Thanks Claudia for reading my mind.) Now, she updates it with color each season. It's great for me! I'm enjoying the fruits of her labor...Claudia comes *highly recommended*

I met Brian 2+ years ago at the SD Home Garden Show. Out of all the vendors I talked with, he stood out. He was easy to talk with...down to earth, sincere, and friendly, not at all like the others who were high pressure and quite expensive. I was an inexperienced gardener when I met Brian. I told him I wanted to be able to sit by my window and look out at a beautiful garden filled with birds and butterflies. Also, I did NOT want a lot of yard work to do! He accomplished that job magnificently and throughout the past two years I have called him back to work on other projects in my yard. For example, I have a very steep hill behind my house in University City. Brian suggested a "goat trail" on the steep hill so I would have easy access to the plants. Now I can easily walk the path and enjoy the shrubs and trees planted on the hill. My favorite project that Brian designed and created was the conversion of an in-ground spa to a tranquil quiet meditation space. When he finished the demolition of the spa Brian added a Buddha statue and soft down facing lighting to enhance the area. At night I can view the space from my bedroom. It is very comforting and relaxing before falling asleep. I wake up to birds singing every day. All the plants in my yard are drought tolerant, lush, and green and I water a maximum of 9 minutes total per week. I am so grateful that Brian had the foresight to think about the water issue when he planned my garden in 2013. His work crew is small but very hard working. They are friendly and polite. I got to know them very well when they worked at my house. The entire team is very knowledgeable about drought tolerant plants, irrigation systems, soil, lighting, etc. At the time they were working for me, they only worked at one address at a time so my projects were completed in a reasonable amount of time. At the end of each job, Brian spent time to help me to understand the particular details of each project. This has helped me a great deal now that I am actively caring for the entire area. Brian has an artistic sense that I find lacking in most landscapers. This creative talent makes his garden designs quite special. He has a way of blending a variety of sizes and species of plants and boulders, on undulating patches of soil, to create a beautiful pleasing environment. I am extremely pleased that I chose Garden Spirit to transform my backyard into a desirable happy place.

Made a appointment with Delgado to come by and give us an estimate to plant a 8' Japanese Maple tree. I needed it done within a couple of days because I was having grass put in on Monday. He gave us a excellent price and said he could start in the morning. At 8:00 A.M. in the morning my door bell rings and it's Delgado, he's all ready done digging a 4' x 4' x 4' hole and has planted the tree. Needless to say I was completely blown away. I was so happy with his work I hired him to plant all the plants and bushes. Delgado does excellent work for a fair price. He gets 5 STARS from me.

David Anderson created a beautiful design for our backyard slope. He used drought tolerant plants and came up with a unique fountain feature as our focal point. He was very receptive to our ideas and gave great expert suggestions. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to all our friends. Lora Z

I call Chris the "Picasso of Plants". His innovative landscape designs have already won my home 2 awards. He's designed 3 homes on our street and all are completely different. He also offers gardener maintenance. His prices are very competitive. Truth be told, you get so much more than you pay for! HIGHLY recommend.

Me and my family had no idea of what we wanted. We knew we just wanted a better back yard. I called vivid landscapes and they scheduled a consultation right away. They came the next day and asked me questions in regard to what I wanted to. I told them I had no idea. So Jerson showed me some examples of different plants and different garden styles. We really liked the tropical look. After one week they had a full design ready for me. They presented their design very well with 3D images and it felt like I was already walking through my new backyard. I think they quoted me cheap because I had asked around a few friends that recently got landscape done too and they payed almost twice of what I did. The quality of the work was excellent I was able to see that most of the workers enjoy working in peoples houses. My experience with vivid landscapes was very good. They handled everything from irrigation to planting and boulder placement. They also finished on time as they said they would. I have referred some friends over to them. I think it was a great investment.

I got several quotes from several companies. Some of the others would probably be considered more "professional," with better knowledge of the specific plants I had in mind, or a long-term ecosystem-style approach to planning, or detailed formal top-down landscape architecture designs. But Sunset Gardens gave me one of the most competitive bids, and they were by far the best communicators. I have a large front yard and an even larger back yard. I needed a huge planter full of dead plants removed, the remains of front and back lawns removed and replaced with mulch, four or five trees planted, a variety of drought-tolerant shrubs and flowers added, some tree-trimming, front and back pathways or sidewalks added, and a drip-line irrigation system installed to replace the old "spray as much water into the air as possible" sprinkler system. One company took a few days to get me a bid and wanted $10k for the project (not including the pathways, which I hadn't figured out I wanted yet), but did not listen to any of my specific needs or requests: they were going to do what they thought was right, cheap, and fast without thinking about my long-term goals. Another company wanted $37k (no joke), and while I'm sure they would have done a fine job, I couldn't afford two cars' worth (and half our family's full year's income) for a project whose number one priorities were removing dead plants and planting some trees; they also left a lot of the specifics vague. Sunset Gardens got back to me the day I called, came out that afternoon to look at the property, and got me a quote that evening, for less than $13k, with a lot of the specifics nailed down. (They actually gave me several options in terms of size of trees and width of walkways, with specific prices for every option, allowing me room to customize based on my budget and plans.) Most importantly, they listened to everything I had to say about what I wanted. They shared their knowledge and recommendations where I had no specifics in mind, but they didn't ignore my own ideas or desires. It felt like a collaborative process from the very beginning to the very end. Once they got into it, they recommended removing and replacing several shrubs that were not in great shape, and adding a drain line to get rain water away from where it was pooling near the house and over to the lower end of the yard. These were also not in the original quote, but they pushed this because it was what the yard needed, not for the additional work: for everything beyond the initial bid, they charged me only for the additional materials/plants, not for any of the (extensive) labor. In the end, we had to get a slightly smaller boxed tree than was initially quoted, which saved me $300. The additional materials and plants cost less than that, so the final price ended up lower than quote. The only issue I had on the project was the tree-trimming, which was pretty heavy-handed. They're not arborists or professional tree-trimmers, and they won't climb up high enough to surgically remove just the dead limbs; they topped my sycamores pretty severely (losing me some significant summer shade). If the sycamores are all filled in again by this time next year (two are already starting to), then I'll be very happy. If one of the trees dies, I'd have to drop my review to 4 stars, but everything else about the experience was so good that I couldn't go any further. This is a small family operation (a father and his two sons), but they work _hard_. Some days they went home early; some days they went home _really_ late. They always started promptly around 8am, and they always did a full day's work with significant noticeable progress. They didn't work weekends, but the total project start to finish took less than a month. They cobbled together the plants I wanted and their own recommendations from at least 6 separate nurseries, ranging from Azusa to Orange to closer to my home in Claremont. Their willingness to go out of their way to make sure we were all happy with the finished product was outstanding. We've gotten several comments from friends about how great the new front walkway is, and the back walkway is exactly what I needed for my everyday use; both were done in lovely sweeping curves. Both yards are already a huge improvement over what I had before, but I'm _really_ excited to see it in a year or two, once the trees are providing shade and the one-gallon shrubs and flowers have filled in. They're small now, but already beautiful and attracting butterflies. My wife and I are really happy. I made sure my mom got their contact information so they could get her a quote for her yards in her new house in Upland. She ended up going with them as well, and is hiring them as regular gardeners as well. They finished my project two days ago, just after signing contracts with her, and started work on her yard. My mom says you already wouldn't recognize her front yard.
