They were Both Very Respectful while helping me out around the house. They put together a bed frame and hung a mirror and even offered to take the trash because my cans were filled.

We were so worried about leaving our very sensitive dog and independent cat when we needed to be out of town for a week. It was truly a blessing to find Linda (Roo's Pet Sitting Service). She put our dog Bella at ease immediately, and even came to see us again a day beforehand to make our girl more comfortable with her presence before we left. She was able to charm our cat with no problem as well. Linda stayed overnight with our babies, provided their meals and ensured Bella had good long walks. Throughout our trip she texted us daily to let us know how our babies were doing. On top of that she took care of plants and mail at no extra charge. I would recommend Linda to anyone who wants good, loving and affordable care for their pets.

Audrey scheduled us right away for a consultation to help with our food aggressive dog. Within one week using her training and tips any family member can pull our dogs food away with out getting biten or even a growl. Our German Shepard will now wait patiently in a calm "sit" position till we put his food back for him. Looking forward to more training!

Damien was very quick to respond and easy to get along with. I was having some issues with one of two dogs and he worked with them both. I got outstanding results and he was very accommodating. He came to my house or came to the dog park or anywhere I thought was a good location. He was flexible and super knowledgable. At times, I had questions or problems and I would text him and he would respond very quickly. It was truly amazing. He felt much more like a friend than a dog trainer. Thanks Damien!

David was very attentive and took good care of my one year Husky, I totally trust and recommend David services .

I am an animal lover. I take exceptional care of them. I rescue them, and I walk them everyday. You would be very happy with my services.

I am able to calm the excited dog but at the same time able to utilize the excitement to get results. I offer leash training, basic commands (sit, lay, paw), and some advanced, such as stay, crawl and jump (all depending on the dog, of course). Food aggression, dog aggression, even people aggression are all fixable with the right handler. A very important part of my training is making sure you as the owner are able to be consistent and firm and have full respect from your fur baby. In the words of Cesar Millan, "be the pack leader".

You love your dog, but just don't have the time to walk it. Let me help you out. I walk, pick up poop, pet, and pamper.

Are you having trouble communicating with your pet? We offer group classes for puppies and adult. We also offer the following services: * Private Classes * Behavior Issues * Dog Sitting * Dog Walking

I offer pet sitting in your home and/or dog walking. I am able to give medications, feed, clean up waste, etc. I am able to care for all kinds of animals: cats, dogs, reptiles, rodents and rabbits.

If you want your dog to have the best walk of their life, I am their girl! I have always had a heart for animals since I was young! This is a fun way to spend time with doggies each day, and I will walk them exactly the way you prefer!

I can walk dogs of all ages and sizes. I am a pet sitter -- at your house or in mine. I am very reliable and love pets. I have a nine-year-old golden retriever and a six-year-old kitty cat.

I am a housekeeper, dog sitter, babysitter and a cook. I can provide basic tutoring and an extra hand when needed. I am also a makeup artist and I can do sewing and repairs, etc.

We will exercise your dog as often as you need. We can feed any dog and offer other services that you may need. We can also board a small dog.

I have experience in walking animals, as I have four-legged friends at home whom I love very much and take excellent care of.

I am a hardworking college student who loves dogs. I've worked at PetSmart in the grooming department as a bather. I love dogs and would love to walk your dogs or pet sit for you.

I am very active, and I love to meet new dogs. I have one of my own, and I love to walk him and other dogs.

I walk dogs and keep them active. It's healthy living for your dog. My goal is to make the customer as well as the dog happy.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a dog walker do?

We all know our dogs love going on long, adventure-filled walks, but jobs and family and commuting can make it difficult to give them the leash time they deserve. You can hire a professional dog walker to make sure your furry friend gets adequate exercise and outdoor time each day. A professional dog walker may be an individual contractor or work for a dedicated dog-walking company. In either case, you want to make sure the pro has the appropriate insurance in case of an emergency. Some people opt to give the dog walker a key to their house; others to have them pick up the dog from the yard. Dog walking can happen as often as multiple times per day, or just a few times a month as needed. Here are some questions to ask when you are interviewing a new dog walker:

    • Will you or someone else be walking my dog?
    • Do you have a backup plan if you can’t make it for a scheduled walk?
    • Will you walk my dog by itself, or do you walk several dogs at once?
    • What are your different walk routes?
    • When will you pick up and drop off?
    • How will we communicate?
    • Do I have to commit to a schedule or are you flexible?
    • What’s your cancellation policy?
    • What’s your response plan if my dog gets injured or becomes sick?
    • How and how often do I pay you?
    • Do you offer package pricing if I buy multiple dog walks up front?

How much do dog walkers charge?

The cost of dog walking depends on several factors including length and frequency of dog walks, the number of dogs on the walk, distance to your house, and any additional services you request. The national average cost range for a dog walk is $10-$20, but that price will vary based on where you live in the country and the regional cost of living and doing business.

The longer the dog walk, the higher your costs will be. Dog walkers offer a range of walk lengths, from 15-minute potty breaks to long hikes of 120 minutes or more. For example, a dog walker may charge $15 for a 15-minute walk and $35 for a 35-minute walk. Requesting that your dog be the only animal on the walk will typically mean a higher cost than if you permit your dog to be walked in a pack of dogs. You may be able to get a discounted rate if you have more than one dog to be walked. For example, a professional dog walker may charge $28 for one dog or $33 for two dogs on a 60-minute walk. If you need additional help — like feeding the dogs or giving them medication — dog walkers may be able to provide this service at an additional fee. Dog walkers may charge higher rates for walking your dogs on holidays.
