Kimber and Ed are awesome. My parents were hoarders and we needed to clean up the house and get it sold. We're talking about almost 50 years of stuff and neglect. I found the junk hauler on Yelp, Tanner of You Call We Haul, who was awesome and he connected me to Kimber.
I had gotten estimates from at least 6 different folks, and Kimber blew me away. She was the only one who seemed like she'd actually want to tackle this insane job. She understood that we wanted to repair to sell, not to move back into, so she's helping us find ways to do a solid job, but also make it look like we spent more than we did wherever possible.
She's great at communicating what is going on and lemme tell you, this house and job has been full of surprises. Each time, she and Ed help me through any momentary freakout sessions and then we all buckle down and just do what needs to be done. I live 30 minutes away from the house and it is such a relief to know the house is in good hands and I don't have to be constantly driving down worrying about what they are or aren't doing.
Like any remodeling job (we've done 2 bathrooms and a backyard of our own before, as well as repiping, etc. in our own house), unforeseen things arise and incur extra time or expense. If you understand this, you won't be disappointed. With a job this ginormous, I made sure to pad my expectations (and budget) so that I didn't stress about how it went. Fortunately, the house is vacant, so that's a huge help. Each time something comes up, Kimber is incredibly apologetic and tries to save us money, which is greatly appreciated.
A family member wanted me to go with a cheaper estimate, but after seeing how things played out, I'm confident they wouldn't have been ANY cheaper in the end because they missed a lot of things in their estimate that Kimber and Ed put in theirs. And even with that, we've had to do a number of change orders b/c the house was just a WRECK.
I also loved the fact that Kimber is female, because I felt like she cared about a lot of things that perhaps a guy wouldn't have. She not only has her contractor's license (and Ed as well), she graduated with her interior design degree from IDI, one of the top design schools in the country. So she was incredibly helpful about the aesthetic side of the job, not just the construction side. Ed is an amazing builder and I saw some of the photos of his woodworking projects on other sites and they are artistry. They are truly a power (tools--haha) couple!!

We had such a great experience working with Kimber and Ed over the past few months. We've worked with many contractors in the past and I must say this experience with OC Design & Build was a much smoother and more professional experience.
Communication- This is key with any project and from the get-go, Kimber asked great questions, met us on site for estimates, and was extremely responsive. If there issues that arose (and when your house was built in the 50's things come up) they would reach out as soon as possible and be transparent about solutions.
Value- At the end of the day, you pay for what you get in many of these scenarios. Th cost was well worth the finished product and service level. OC Design & Build is not the cheapest but they were the most accurate about the transparency of cost with no false promises. The quality of work was also top-notch.
Quality of Work- Between Kimber's eye on design and Ed's attention to detail, it is hard to imagine a better duo. They helped come up with creative solutions in our unique spaces and Ed went above and beyond to make sure everything was done the right way. No cutting corners here!
Kimber & Ed feel like family to us now and we plan to work with them again on future projects. We highly recommend OC Design & Build!

It was an absolute pleasure to work with OC Design & Build! We updated the exterior of our house including new paint, porch posts, gate, lighting, and backsplash for our BBQ. From our first consultation through the end of the project OC D&B was extremely fair and dependable. Their quote was competitive for the entire project and the work quality was top rate. They also gave good design advice. I'd gladly work with them for future projects and recommend them to anyone.

Kimber and Ed were great to work with. We fired our first contractor due to incompetence, and having OC Design and Build takeover was a breath of fresh air. They brought us to our final inspection and we passed with ease. They are reliable and communicate well. Definitely recommend!

I needed to update my kitchen and all my bathrooms. I was so fussy and nobody seemed to be able to understand my preferences. UNTIL I found these two gems!!! Kimber and Ed were able to sit and understand what I wanted. They helped me create the perfect kitchen and their ideas for the bathroom were amazing. Not only are they smart and friendly, but they feel like part of our family now....amazing ideas, quality work, on time and affordable pricing!!! They sent us a set of beautiful towels as a Thank You for using them. Later we used them to do some improvements to our commercial building and we cannot say enough about how fabulous it turned out. Thank you Kimber and Ed.
