Raquel is absolutely amazing! I have two 1-year old female pitbull/labrador mixes that desperately needed training. They knew basic commands such as sit, lie down and shake. However, they never had proper training before. There was constant unruly behavior - jumping on guests and leash pulling among others. Less than an hour into our session, my dogs were listening and staying put - something I could never get them to do. I've had other trainers come by who would sit and go through the animal behavior stuff and as soon as their time was up, they were gone without going through any exercise training. Raquel put in the time and was willing to stay until they got through exercises. I can't thank her enough. My dogs are much more calm now and I was able to bring them to a friend's house without worrying if they'd get into it with the other dogs or people. She's well worth the money!
Karen is a great dog trainer, she knows how to communicate with dogs and their owners. She explained a lot of our dog's behavior issues, answered all our questions, and walked us through real-life situation action items that we started applying. Results were immediate.
I had a private training session with Dee Cee, and it was worth every penny! She has a real passion for training dogs and she is very respectful, clear, thorough and effective. My dog Gubi has behavior problems and Dee Cee came up with methods that immediately worked! She also gave me great tools and tips to use in the future. I was so impressed with Gubi's progress in just a day and I feel like I know my dog much better now. Thank you Dee Cee!!
Our experience with Dog-Skool was outstanding. John really helped us to understand our dog's behavior. His positive reinforcement methods have been very helpful. We felt like he really cared about our dog and our relationship with him. He clearly loves dogs and teaches a positive and respectful relationship between dog and owner. He was very patient and thorough in his teaching. We are super grateful and highly recommend John.
KYM IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE FOR MY DOG AND I BOTH;SHE IS AWESOME! SHE KNOWS HER STUFF AND IS VERY KIND!Frida is my first dog & considered by some a "problem breed".I rescued her mother & siblings & found then all homes...except Frida, I chose her from the litter.Years before meeting Kym, I read up a bit. I did some things right for my puppy! Icrate trained her, and took her to puppy classes. She was easily potty trained, and trained not to bark, chew or nibble on fingers. She learned to sit, stay, fetch, and high five. She is very loyal& sweet and once scared off an intruder who came in through my kitchen window at night!!!! I thought everything was great. Frida always had a big yard, a bed inside, and always seemed happy. At about 6 years old, we moved to a smaller place. Frida had a dog run &we played often but @ 65 lbs, she needed to go on walks. I then realized what a naughty human I had been. Frida was totally unsocialized, she tugged on her leash, would nip if strangers tried to pet her, disliked children, and refused to come when I called her. She liked to chase motorcycles..skate boards, trucks, & cats.....oh my!I had inadvertently conditioned her to be a yard guard dog. ...with very poor social skills and bad manners. Total nightmare @ the park!I became so worried about her running off and her seemingly aggressive behavior, our walks became very stressful. I felt guilty and stressed!I tried a few trainers who suggested choke chains and various techniques until KYM RESCUED US!!!!! She convinced me to bring my 6 year old dog to puppy classes. I always say Kym trained me and my dog responded quickly. She didn't let me waste anymore time feeling worried our stressed. She was kind, patient, and well informed. It became a simple matter of me learning to understand my dogs needs and behavior. Frida comes when called, doesn't chase cars, and has even spent time at doggy day care with other dogs!!!!! She's even nice to the cable guy! Yet, I'm still confident Frida would stave off any intruders!Kym trained us both well!! I have my sweet best buddy back with more play options than ever! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND KYM FOR ANY DOGGY NEEDS YOU MAY HAVE!!!!
Denise was wonderful. She is a very caring animal lover. Even sent me pics of my pets while I was on vacation. Definitely would recommend and use again
After one session, we saw noticeable improvements in our dog's behavior. Melissa is very responsive and helped us with some bad behavior we were seeing. She showed real concern. She's also great with my daughter who wants to ge involved in the process.
Timothy is well informed and great with our dogs. Do not let his age and experience fool you. He knows what he is doing. He gave us a free consultation which was basically an hour lesson accompanied with detailed notes to help us continue. His hourly rate is much more affordable than some of the others that were offered. One of our dogs is a bit fearful and will take a few lessons which we could not have afforded with many of the other trainers. Plus, they are trained in our home. The most important thing is he is teaching us how to improve our dogs behavior simply by how we approach them. I look forward to continuing our first lesson package. We can already see a major difference in them.
Even after the first session, we experienced a very positive difference in our dog's behavior as well as the effectiveness of our commands as owners. Daniel Ross has done an excellent job in giving us the necessary tools and have thoroughly enjoyed the training. Thank you Daniel!
We took our two bully puppies to Steve welch and his partner Wendy for in kennel training. We returned two weeks later to pick up the dogs. They both knew how to sit, stay and heel after only two weeks! We are now continuing the training at our home and we see excellent results everyday. Steve and Wendy have so much knowledge of canine behavior and they know how to use that knowledge to bring out the best behavior in dogs. I was really blown away by the whole experience. Training ones dogs takes lots of effort and repetition. It is not for the faint of heart. I can see why some May view their techniques as harsh but that is not the case. Dogs are not people and they need the structure and training that Steve offers. We intend on going back for more lessons and we are very grateful to them. We now have manageable well behaved dogs. Thanks Steve and Wendy!!
Angela was amazing with helping us train our puppy! She's very knowledgeable and understands dog behavior very well. She's great assessing the dogs needs and correcting any negative behaviors. As a new puppy owner she helped put a lot of our concerns to rest. Great trainer, 10/10, would recommend to any dog owner.
Theresa and Brad have been wonderful with our dog. They are knowledgable, responsive and love animals. Highly recommend!
Had a session with Dave earlier today. Already see changes in my dog and how chaotic my home has been. He talked to me a lot about dog behavior which was valuable to me. He was very professional and knew exactly what needed to be done. I highly recommend him.
Philip and Michelle were great with our dog Pip-boy. When we contacted them Pip was aggressive and nervous, with little confidence. He had attacked our smaller dog a few times and was an all around bully to her. He also had a very difficult time being left alone. Philip and Michelle helped to build up his confidence and in turn helped to lessen his aggressive and nervous behaviors. Their dog Loki also helped socialize Pip and was impressively well trained. Pip now gets along with our smaller dog, Tootsie, and is more at ease when we leave him alone. In the six weeks that we've worked with them I can see that our Pip is a different dog. He's happier, more relaxed, and more at ease. Philip and Michelle we're always accommodating and welcomed any and all questions we had through the training process. We would highly recommend K.O. Dog training!
We are so grateful for finding Dogwood K9 Training Experience and working with Ron. Our rescue dog, Jackson, was a stray with no prior training and some behavioral issues that we couldn’t address on our own. Jackson had human aggression towards males, did not listen to commands, jumped on furniture, nipping, chasing our cats, incessant barking, anxiety, the list goes on. By working with Ron we have learned how to address all of these issues through behavior modification training. The best part of working with Ron is that he makes it fun for the dog by using games as a primary means of training. Jackson loves going to Ron’s classes and surprisingly isn’t aggressive towards him in any way, probably due to Ron’s sweet and caring nature towards dogs that Jackson can sense. Ron’s training method starts with the basics and then we build upon the foundation using baby steps so that the dog progressively works up the full commands, while truly understanding them. Our dog’s behavior has done a 180 since we started training and he shows respect for us now. This is after a different trainer told us we should probably take our dog to the shelter because he is going to be too hard train (a lost cause, as they say). Ron’s ultra-positive attitude towards Jackson helped us see that although he is not a perfect dog, he is the perfect dog for us. Ron is a truly exceptional dog trainer. Don’t expect magic; it takes hard work to counter-condition a dog with bad habits like Jackson, but Ron’s expertise will equip you with all of the tools that you need to work with your dog. What I like about the classes is that Ron is training ME to work with my dog so that I can continue to use his tactics long after our classes end. Through his guidance I am creating a long-lasting bond with my dog based on respect, but mostly based on FUN! We love Dogwood!
Audrey was great to work with. She is very patient and took her time working with me as well as Max. I am pleased with Max's much improved behavior and new skills.
Maureen was very responsive to texts/calls/emails. She made sure to address the individual needs of my family/pet. She packed in so much information into just one session and provided us with some unexpected extras. We have already seen an improvement in our puppy's behavior after one session. I love her positive approach to modifying behavior. She was also super patient with us (first time dog parents). We had some very basic questions but she spent extra time with us to make sure we were set before she left. Will definitely use her again and refer friends in need of doggy help.
Jennifer is great with my pups! She's reliable, trustworthy and such an animal lover! Highly recommend her!
My daughter rescued a frenchie and we didn’t know what she had been through. We knew she was super sweet and very loving and smart but she had some really bad issues....... wanting to “kill” the TV when and animal was on and also she had leash aggression. So today Tommy came to the rescue. First of all he is incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of dogs and second Stella was so comfortable around him. Within 10 minutes we had her TV behavior under control, I was shocked and we did work on walking on a leash...... I learned I needed to be in control and by Tommy teaching me what to do made it so easy for Stella..... I can’t wait for our second lesson, what a pleasure it will be to have a well trained rescued dog!
David is a great trainer. He has helped us tremendously with our Pitbull Shiloh. He was reactive towards other dogs and we just couldn't take him anywhere. We were looking for a long term trainer we can rely on and David has definitely been reliable. We did his behavior modification then his basic obedience and his advanced obedience. Shiloh can now walk nicely on his leash around other dogs even in stores!
When I adopted my dog Lucky, I knew had behavior problems. Unless Lucky knew you, he would be very aggressive, unlike his normal, sweet self. I tried asking for help from others but their advice didn't work. I accepted that Lucky may always be aggressive, which was a bummer because I enjoyed taking him to the park and to the beach, but was always worried about what mood he'd be in. I'm still shocked at M's work, in 4 lessons Lucky has done a complete 180. Before the training, he wouldn't listen to me for simple commands like sit, and would constantly pull and try to control our walks. After the first lesson, Lucky began to easily listen to my commands for "sit" and "stay". Now that training is complete, I only have to ask him once to "leave it"/"stop" when he starts to act aggressively towards others! Lucky is also able to sit/stay and down/stay for at least half a minute, and knows to wait for me to signal him to enter or leave the house. It seemed like this progress would never come or take months, but thanks to M we were able to do this in a month!
