Cris is amazing! He really understands how the voice works and uniquely tailors his lessons to each person he works with. I've seen how well he is able to tap each person's potential, how his advice often transforms the sound for the better. He works with all sorts of people of all ages and levels of experience. He is the "Voice Whisperer" as others who have amazing insights and knack for working with animals have been called "Horse Whisperer" or "Dog Whisperer". I've made so much progress with him because he has helped me become more conscious of proper breathing, the role of emotion in singing, of how to engage my whole body in singing and he has helped build my confidence. I had taken voice lessons before but found them tedious because of the exclusive focus on vocal exercises. With Cris, there is a good balance of vocal exercises and working on actual pieces of music. Working with Cris also doubles as therapy for me. He can tell at a glance if I've had a bad day at work and will adjust the lesson accordingly, so often our sessions will start with a vocal reset and relaxing breathing exercises. I'm a teacher so he also works with me on proper technique for using my speaking voice in the classroom. Furthermore, he seems equally at easy with pop songs, musicals and classical arias and is able to accompany you on the piano seemingly effortlessly. He encourages all of his students to grow and stretch musically and has a few of us now writing our own songs and helping us develop them more fully.
Working with him has revived a rich part of my life that I thought I'd lost forever. It's challenging, fun, and brings me so much joy and comfort. If you're thinking about voice lessons, try Cris!

Cris is an exceptionally gifted voice instructor. He has extensive academic knowledge and personal experience in vocal performance. He is also very creative and intuitive in his teaching style. He is able to tune in to how the sound is produced through the whole body and give specific cues on how to change to fully express yourself through your voice. Regardless of your stage of learning, Cris is able to meet you where you are, pace his instruction, and help you grow as an artist/person.

Cris is the best teacher I could’ve asked for when I started lessons a little under a year ago! He has been so patient and knowledgeable and I feel I have progressed so much in the time I’ve worked with him! I would highly recommend him to someone of any skill level or musical background.
