FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I need to see the entire scope of work. Some people really don't need what I do. They can just go to a store and get free design help. However, for full transforming interiors, I am unlimited. Ideally I charge by the hour unless it's a project where it's small enough for a flat fee. Interior design presentation/prelim budget: $100/hour. AutoCad plans are also extra, if it's needed. Once design is set and production started, $50/hour (assistants help me depending on scope). Installation, project management, Owners Representation: $100/hour (depending on scope) Trip charges outside of San Diego County are extra. I travel outside of California also.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I consult and design many different things now. Jewelry, retail spaces, unusual hospitality spaces, exterior rooms, gourmet food accessories, textiles, outdoor furnishings & spaces, landscaping. I also enjoy blogging about interior design and my finds as a designer. I attend many conferences and travel for high end design consultations. I also consult with other design firms also that have international clientele.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Being a travel agent and visualizing every airport in the world based on data from my travel agent computer. I love all kinds of design and visualization is my biggest strength.
