Looking for an experienced, family friendly, and highly supportive personal trainer that specializes in MMA? Look no further. I randomly found EJ while walking through my community (and coincidentally on thumbtack..small world!) and I saw him training a mother and daughter. After exchanging info and then researching him more on thumbtack and the web, I decided to start training with him. The rest is history. I've since focused on boxing and Muay Thai mainly for self-defense and the cardio, and it's been working out really well. My power, speed, and stamina has improved significantly. I'm even thinking about getting my daughter to sign up with him to train. Great coach and trainer. I couldn't ask for anything more.
Johnny is awesome! I hired him to train my wife in self defense. I've been doing martial arts for years and have never managed to convince my wife to do it with me. It always intimidated her. But within a few lessons with Johnny she is now hooked. Johnny is very experienced working with women and with people without any background in martial arts. Now, a month into her working with Johnny, she loves every minute of it. I can see her improvement, both physically and psychologically and I have never seen her so motivated to workout. We've been taking karate at American Kenpo Karate in both group and private class for two years. As an educator who works with both kids and young adults, I appreciate their care and professionalism. I know my daughter is safe with her instructors. She has thrived under their study and has earned her belts through hard work and well executed katas. In addition Kenpo is the best form of self defense for karate. The classes teach discipline, excellent form and responsibility. I would look here before considering anywhere else. They are a step above the rest!
Brian was a patient and flexible instructor. As a beginner, it was refreshing to have an instructor that was willing to go slow and explain things more than once. My friend and I had a great time in his classes, and I left feeling like I had learned a ton of new skills (especially self defense!).
Very straight forward, real world applications, which is exactly what we need - just get right down to it. We have tried other self defense courses which spend a lot of time on learning discipline and self control (which is great if that's what someone is looking for) but this jumps right in and we're learning real world techniques in the first minute. Highly recommend and looking forward to the next session.

It is straightforward, using leverage, timing and distance, kicks , punches, joint locks and the fighting mentality . You learn how to use sticks and knives, as you learn the hand-to-hand techniques. We will need a small room or carpeted area to train in. Private lessons will run about 45 per hr.
