I could tell that Jesse takes a personal, individualized approach for each student. He asked about my goals and musical tastes, and then he got to know how I learn best. I already had experience playing classical violin and piano, and Jesse has taught me how to play rock bass, guitar, and keys. He helped me gain confidence in playing without sheet music, improvising, and memorizing parts. He was patient with me as I struggled, but he also pushed me because he knew I could do it. One of the other things that stands out to me about Jesse as a teacher is that he really tries to help students achieve small wins in every lesson, so you know you're making some progress and you're energized to continue practicing.

Jesse was my daughter's original bass teacher when she was 9 and was really great about teaching her how to play and encourage her love for music. Fast forward, she is now 17 and hasn't stopped playing and we now send our friends kids to Jesse!

Jesse is the best. He is patient, friendly, and always finds new and interesting ways to relate to my kids to make learning music fun. He mixes more traditional music with new songs the kids know and gets them interested. He's a great listener, so when he hears the kids talking about something, he remembers and finds a way to incorporate it into his teaching. He's a great communicator and flexible. We couldn't be happier.
