I have been coaching and developing talent for more than 30 years alongside a thriving Broadway and film career. I offer fully individually tailored programs for each one’s way and pace of learning and to discover one’s TRUE and AUTHENTIC way of expressing oneself. Because acting is about being truthful.
I also believe one has to be a working professional in order to pass on fresh knowledge alongside a solid background of studies: I hold a PhD with a dissertation focusing on the genre of movie musicals.
I attended The HB Studios in New York and went to the Stella Adler Conservatory in Los Angeles. I studied The Method in New York and deepened my knowledge of the Meisner Technique in LA.
I graduated from The New York Film Academy as a Director-Writer-Filmmaker - the Los Angeles branch - and I now write and direct short films.
I worked on Broadway as a director reformer and as a choreographer and associate director.
I wore many a hat in film and tv.
I belong to both both Broadway and Film Unions Actors Equity and SAGAFTRA.
As a film director I find myself on location often, therefore, though living in Los Angeles, my classes are ONLINE. I do give live workshops in New York and LA throughout the year though.
What is peculiar about my classes is that we start carving a career path from day one alongside the artistic development. We come up with a detailed individually tailored program just for you and your needs.
We start with the main acting techniques and see what resonates best with YOU. We move on with character and script analysis. An so on. I provide all study material.
Later I will also tell you where and how to audition, what you will need to audition (not after we have analyzed your character type and narrowed down your niche of work) and of course I will teach you how to self tape.
I have worked in prestigious colleges and schools on both the East and West Coasts, but I prefer now to focus on individual careers.
By the way, I help people in the art of acting, but also hold a roster of students whom I follow every step of the way through the screenwriting of their feature film or tv series.
I also hold a Yoga/Spiritual Coach diploma from YogaWorks acquired in New York City and I incorporate these skills in my coaching.
