Introduction: Basketball has been my way of life since I was 5 years old. Playing at all levels I know exactly what it takes to be successful at all levels. I enjoy working with Beginners and teaching them the importance of building a strong fundamental foundation. And I love working with advanced players and showing them the details of the game to improve on. Mentoring athletes and preparing them for their basketball journey is something I get the most fulfillment from.

Coach Justin is a true professional. He focuses on proper technique, is detail oriented, and a great communicator. My son is 14 years old and truly enjoys his training sessions. He believes Coach Justin provides the appropriate balance of push, motivation, and positive coaching. His experience is obvious, and his personality is a plus. Would definitely recommend!

Pure Joy brings a level of professionalism and attention to detail that’s second to none in the industry. My son has made steadfast improvements with his shooting form, foot work, and overall court awareness only after a few sessions with Justin. I really believe he can take his game to new levels with the continued assistance of Pure Joy.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    $70/hr session

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

A basic training session consist of form shooting as a warm up while coaching and correcting technique. Then it depends on the clients learning curve on what drill I will move on to. I never rush a clients progress. They need to understand the importance of there foundation (fundamentals). Once the foundation is strong, we move on to shooting skills/drills: movement without the ball, getting open, creating space, and spacing the floor. We get up a lot of reps in my training sessions. Repetition is the Key!!!!!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have accomplished a lot in my playing career. I have competed at the Junior College, NCAA, and played 11 Years Professionally overseas. I played at Saddleback Community College in California, won the State Championship my freshmen season and was an Orange Coast All-Conference performer my sophomore season. I then went on to earn a full athletic scholarship to the the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Here I was an Pacific West All-Conference performer both years I played, and also won my University's Male Athlete of the Year award my senior season. I played Professionally for 11 years. I played in Germany BBL, Romania Div A, Mexican LNBP, and Puerto Rico BSN. I have been an all star two times in my professional career and have lead my team's in 3PT FG and FT percentages practically my entire career. Also I am proud to say that I won my first Professional Championship in 2015 with the Soles de Mexicali in the Mexican LNBP.
