Chef Evi did an amazing job for our entertainment industry event for 50 people. We had a brunch with a Kosher restriction and she did a great job giving us a delicious menu that was high quality and at a very affordable rate. She also was very flexible and easy to communicate with. Last minute we decided to add coffee and tea and she was still able to provide that for us on short notice. I hired Chef Evi for a private party and she was incredible(her staff too)!! She was patient and responsive to all my demands, offered ideas and feedback and her expertise/opinions were always great. She was easy to communicate with and eager for my event to be a success! On top of all that the food was AMAZING!! 5 stars, two thumbs up, whatever rating system you use she’ll be at the top. Evi was incredibly helpful in planning an intimate one on one session for my husband and I. I had an odd request of having a professional chef come to our apartment and teach us a bit more about cooking. Chef Evi did an ok job catering for a small birthday dinner for 5 people. The highlights were her responsiveness and the salmon. The lower points were that she showed up more than an hour late, the gluten free raviolis were inedible, and the cost seemed very high for the food and presentation (over $120/person).Jun 22, 2019VerifiedChef Evi Catering & Events's reply
Hi Holly! I apologize for your experience. When I left I was under the impression you were quite satisfied with the dinner. Regardless of traffic and parking issues, tardiness is never something we want and we do pride ourselves on punctuality. As for the gluten-free ravioli, they were an add-on for David and you were not charged for them, I do still apologize if they were not as good as the regular ones and I can guarantee we will be reworking the recipe before serving them in the future. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?We are a full service catering company, which means we have partnerships with multiple third party vendors and get some really amazing discounts with them as we have been working together for quite a while. We have a 17% tax/service fee that covers the tax for staff and anything we purchase. Gratuity is not included with any of our proposals under 100 people as we prefer to leave it up to the client.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Chef Evi personally works through the menu and event details with all clients. We then send an initial proposal of service and await review. Once the proposal is signed, we require 50% deposit for the total. The remaining balance is due upon arrival and any additional request costs will be due at that time as well. After service, the gratuity is appreciated.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?Chef Evi has a background in the kitchen as her mother was a chef in New Orleans. She has been cooking since the age of 4.
