Andy has over 15 years of experience as a middle and high school music teacher, directing Orchestra, Pit Orchestra, Celtic Ensemble, Modern Band, and Digital Music classes in Upstate NY while privately teaching students ranging from elementary age to adults.

Andy offers lessons to students of all ages and ability levels, in person in Los Angeles and online anywhere, specializing in:
CELLO LESSONS for beginners through advanced students, with instruction tailored to your musical goals—from classical technique and rep to Celtic music, improvisation, and creative playing; and
CELTIC LESSONS (mostly trad Irish) on all bowed instruments—violin, viola, cello, and double bass.
Andy offers lessons that are tailored to meet your particular goals, interests, and learning needs. With a Masters in Music Education, over a decade of classroom experience, extensive study with Irish master fiddlers in both Ireland and the U.S., and years of experience composing and producing music, he is proficient in playing and teaching a wide range of musical styles including classical cello technique and repertoire, traditional Irish music and “fiddling” on stringed instruments of all types, and improvisation and riffing. Cello students can develop a strong technical foundation while also learning to play creatively, experiment with the instrument, and find their own musical voice.
