I hired Sanz & Sanz for a door repair. They weren’t the cheapest — actually quoted higher than everyone else — but I went with them because they said they could get it done the fastest. The main issue: the quote wasn’t complete. After the lock replacement and silicone work ($225), I was told I’d need to pay an additional $175 just for sanding and painting the area they’d worked on — bringing the total to $400. In my experience, finishing the repaired area should already be part of the job. With drywall, for example, a pro repairs the full damaged section and leaves it smooth, not just patches the hole and leaves the rest for you. That’s the standard I expected here. If you hire them, get a detailed, all-inclusive quote up front and confirm exactly what “repair” covers. I ended up needing to arrange extra work to actually finish the job, which I wasn’t expecting. The work itself was done, but be clear on scope and pricing before you agree.

I was originally quoted $600, but after the work was already underway, I was told an additional $200 was needed to modify the opening, leaving me little choice but to agree. I paid $800 total, but unfortunately, the job was left unfinished with exposed wood, screw holes, chipped paint, and rough areas around the hinges and frame. I expected a cleaner, finished result for the price.
