My name is Sam and I'm a certified dog trainer in Los Angeles. My team and I would love to help you out with your dog!
We have years of experience working in the industry and have successfully helped hundreds of dog owners. We specialize in dog training based on canine behavior and working with even the most difficult behavior modification cases. From puppies to German Shepherds, there's not a breed or unruly behavior we can't handle. We use what's referred to as a Balanced Training Method. My trainers and I are familiar with a variety of methods and styles and use whichever is most appropriate for both the owner and their dog. We don't believe in a "one size fits all" training approach.
We offer private sessions both in your home and at our facility, online training, board & train, and daycare. Don't hesitate to reach out and ask any questions you may have.

As a first-time dog owner, I felt it was my responsibility to be able to give my pup Billie the resources to succeed as the best version of herself. When I became searching for trainers around my area, I honestly didn't know where to start. I sent an inquiry request for The Ranch Dog Training and within less than 10 minutes I recieved a response from Sam. We then spoke on the phone regarding Billie and he was able to sqeeze her in for a private session the following day. Their lot is huge, plenty of space for training and doggydaycare, five minutes into our private-training I already felt so at ease with Sam & Steph -- they're both excellent/knowledgable trainers and Billie adored them (as did I) they made our session so fun and informative. As a new dog mom it truly put me at ease. To top everything off, they both wrote me a very detailed follow up informative list of all the commands we learned during our session so I could continue her training at home. Which so far has worked great! And we look forward to seeing them again, soon!

We just finished our first session with Sam, and it was such an eye-opening experience. Within moments of meeting our new rescue dog, Sam could already tell us about where his behavior stemmed from and the right way to address his specific needs. We will be continuing training with Sam as we could tell right away that our dog is in the right hands with him.

Lucy is now in their DogDaycare Training two days a week and progress is definitely being made. Not only does she get to play with other dogs, she meets new people and is learning her manners!!

Hubz and I hired Smart Paws to take care of our bunnies while we were away. Okay, they're rabbits, but to me they will always be baby bun buns. Kit was our sitter. She took note of a few things during our meet-and-greet; she was easygoing and the process was simple and easy. While we were gone Kit sent us hilarious daily updates on our buns' relationship status (and of course, the serious stuff too). Our last sitter would send us a text or two every few days, but the daily email from Smart Paws gave us much more peace of mind. The bunnies' bedding can make the carpet a big mess, so I vacuum pretty often. It was so nice that Kit went the extra mile to really dig in and clean the bunnies' mess so we could come home to a tidy apartment. The bunnies seemed happy to see us, but not despo for attention like they have after our previous vacations. Maybe they're getting older and tamer, but I feel it was because they received excellent care and attention with SmartPaws.

Dog Training Rates
$125 - Online session via Zoom (1 hour)
$200 - Private session at our facility in Tarzana (1-2 hours)
$250 - Private session at your location (1-2 hours)
$150/day - Board & Train at our facility in Tarzana. For dogs with severe separation anxiety it’s an additional $25/day
