Hi, I have 42 years of experience as a custom finish carpenter/cabinetmaker.
I've got an amazing 500-photo portfolio, every tool imaginable, letters of reference and vast familiarity with tools, materials, techniques and applications.
I also specialize in retrofit (new doors/old jambs) door hanging and complete hardware installation.
There is no door that I can't hang perfectly. I can also make old doors work better... open, close and lock smoother.
I create fine woodwork for homes, typically. I will also do commercial work. I'm honest, hardworking, articulate and passionate about my work.

Gary fixed all of my interior doors, which were dragging, not closing properly and, in one case, the top hinge had come undone. He also installed a new lock on my front door and it literally seems like a new door. It never quite closed or locked properly and now it's super smooth. In addition to this he built shelves in my garage and then rebuilt all of the casings and moldings around the side entrance to the garage (they had rotted and were the workmanship was shoddy). He then hung a new fiberglass door in the garage and trimmed it out with decorative molding so it would appear to be a wood door. It looks awesome, and the quality of work is superior. I've renovated four houses, and Gary is one of the best finishing carpenters I've ever encountered. He's also a super nice guy who is extremely easy to work with; I highly recommend him! In fact, I'll be hiring him again soon for a bedroom renovation I'm planning.

Gary responded to a posting on here. We are remodeling a high end 1929 Historic Paul Williams home in Pasadena.
My ad said "I need a perfect finish carpenter" and he responded I'm your guy and I do perfect work. He was spot on!
Gary is a star plain and simple! We trusted him from the first minute we met him and would give him the keys to our house if we're out of town with thinking twice. He's like your fav jewish uncle who's over protective and cares too much!
His work is stunning and seriously, he's one of the last great masters at his craft. He's in his 60's and isn't like the goof balls contractors have show up who speak zero english and have to re-do their work again and again.
I'm telling you this is THE guy and we'll never use anyone else for high end wood work, trim, building anything from doors to shelves.
See this door he built for us. It's one of 10 different things he did for us. It will be stained soon but it's beautiful!
don't interview anyone else. I don't give reviews like this for people but he deserves it!
We've spent easily $6k with Gary and he's worth every penny!

I hired Gary to install about 100 linear feet of custom baseboard and moulding in my home. Gary arrived on time and installed the woodwork in a neat, clean, and professional manner for the price he quoted. The quality of Gary's work was outstanding and I highly recommend his services to anyone in need of a finish carpenter.

Gary was simply amazing! My friend and I wanted to learn the basics of woodworking as we were doing our first DIY project, and I'm so happy that we decided on Gary. He has such a good energy, calm & a patient demeanor, and made our time fun! We feel so lucky to have learned from him, and we will be scheduling our second course soon!

Gary did an outstanding job for me. He showed up on time and was prepared to go to work right away. He offered me options then got to work and built a great closet for me! His work was extremely neat and he cleaned up after so the room looked like nobody had been there at all. His price was very reasonable and there were no surprise charges at the end d the job.
I am definitely going to use Gary again and have recommended him to my daughter and her husband.
He receives 5 Stars Plus from me !
