DO NOT USE GDI GARAGE DOORS! STAY FAR AWAY! BAIT AND SWITCH!!!
I am absolutely furious with how this company mishandled my job of installing my wood garage doors. Their technician, Jimmy A., came to my property for at lease 30 mins, looked at the job, and together with their manager gave me a written quote of $1,600 plus tax for installation only. We agreed to the price. I HAVE THE WRITTEN QUOTE AND AM ATTACHING IT TO THIS REVIEW.
They were supposed to install my wood doors last Thursday. They didn’t show up!!! We then rescheduled for today, Monday.
Their installer, Elder, finally showed up—and suddenly I was told they wanted AN EXTRA $1,000 to do the exact job I had already been quoted $1,600 for. That would bring the price to $2,600—more than 60% above the written quote!
I even offered to provide a construction worker at no cost to them to help with the installation. They weren’t interested. Instead, they insisted on the additional $1,000!!
I called management expecting them to fix this. Instead, I found them extremely rude and completely unwilling to honor the written price their own representative gave me.
This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with anyone!!!. What is the point of sending someone to inspect the job, agreeing on a price, and giving a customer a written quote if the company can show up later and demand another $1,000? EXTORTION!
I would say, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING! but, they don't care.
SEE THE ATTACHED WRITTEN QUOTE: $1,600 PLUS TAX. THEY ARE NOW DEMANDING AN ADDITIONAL $1,000 TO DO THE JOB.
SAVE YOURSELF THE FRUSTRATION AND STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. See attached proof!

Guy was on time, gave a quick quote with options and then replaced the motor right on the spot, told him he had 2 hours and he finished in 1.45. Nice guy great customer service, would call again.

This is truly one of those companies that come out and give you a straight opinion of the situation of your garage repair. The first time they came out and repaired it it was no charge the second time there was a major repair and it was extremely fair pricing.

Youre in a jam when the garage door jams with your car inside. GDI scheduled service the next morning, presented a couple of alternatives and I was on my way in no time with new springs and the door back on track. The perfect service call.
